The Fair Tax - Support Is Growing

The FairTax Plan is a nonpartisan national grassroots campaign to replace the federal income tax system with a progressive national retail sales tax. It provides a "prebate" to ensure no American pays federal taxes on spending up to the poverty level, dollar-for-dollar federal revenue replacement and, through companion legislation, repeal of the 16th Amendment.

See the YouTube Video that explains it very well.

I read something that gave a little pause for consideration.

In all our upheaval over taxes in the 1700s, the rate was like five cents on the dollar.

I'm feeling similar sentiments about gas at the moment. It isn't so much that the gas prices are rising, but with all the focus on "Big Oil" no one is looking at just how much the states are bringing in with their taxes.

I can't exactly go dump it in the ocean, though.

The FairTax would eliminate tax on gasoline. Thanks for spreading the word. If you don't know much about the FairTax, do educate yourself about it, then educate your representatives in Congress. It's an important issue that, hopefully, will continue to gain momentum via grassroots efforts.
