* Representational government
* Unalienable rights (life, liberty, property)
* Limited government
* Local control
* Personal responsibility
I'd like to begin this carnival with an enlightening post by Hercules Mulligan which reflects on the Principled Government and the Intentions of our Founders. It is entitled, What is a Principled Government, Anyway? and it can be found over at The Foundation Forum.
Further on the topic of government, specifically Islamic government, Hakim Abdullah weighs in with his piece about Making A Modern Muslim World and it is posted at Hakim Abdullah.
Representational Government
I would file this next Carnival entry under Representational Government because Doug Ragan illustrates the power of the people in his piece as he asks: "Are we missing the big picture in the debate over immigration reform? I’m not just talking about the misguided politicians who tried to shove a ridiculous amnesty bill down our throats. Have we the people allowed what really happened to go over our heads?"
Read his post for the answer at What Everyone Missed in the Immigration Debate posted at I'm A Pundit Too.
Unalienable rights (life, liberty, property)
Demonstrating his unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness by sharing with us his travels, Ashok is Dreaming in America which is posted on his blog called Rethink..

And the musical Mad Kane presents her pursuit of happiness with her very own rendition of Alouette in Yet Another Filibuster Song Parody (The Full-a-Bluster Song) posted at Mad Kane's Political Madness.

On a more serious note, John presents an article regarding rights and imprisonment in his piece entitled Self-Evident which can be found at Hell's Handmaiden.
Limited Government

Lynn Aleshire presents a view of limiting government spending on education, with this wonderful post which speaks about an Alaskan court case and how to revamp American education . It's a great read called A Few Bazillion More Bucks or a New Way of Thinking?, and it is posted at Homeschool2.0 Blog.
Local Control

Regarding Local Control; one cannot get more local than one's home. Silvia of Po Moyemu--In My Opinion says that her post is about homeschoolers'(in VA at least) being required to test their children and report it back to the government school division, and she has some disagreement with that requirement. Her post is called:Thoughts on testing
Personal Responsibility

Personal Responsibility is showcased as Cade Krueger presents Taking Care Of Taxes And The Economy Through A Small Business Opportunity posted at Write To Right Your Small Business Opportunity.
Dana posted an interesting piece about the individual vs. family as it pertains to government. The name of the post is The Individual as the Foundation for Society and it can be found over at Principled Discovery.
That wraps up 10 entries for carnival #10!
Thanks for joining me in this Carnival of Principled Government. It certainly has been great fun and should provide you with plenty of good reading for the week.
And remember:
In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock. - Thomas Jefferson (1743 - 1826)
