Miss Teen USA - You Think She Can Find The USA On A Map?

That poor girl... she needs a good dose of Toastmasters International.

But C'mon, I personally know blonds out there with lots of beauty and brains... but I guess they wouldn't be in a beauty pageant like this.

However, this does give one pause for reflection on our education system.

I'll bet she's a really nice person though. I truly wish her all the best.

Oh poor girl. I wonder where she went to school?

I saw this last night on tv! My middle daughter, the one that loves studying maps and memorizing the flags of each country, can't fathom the answer this young lady gave. She thought it was a joke and I had to convince her that, indeed, it was not.

I say that this young lady was probably coached (brainwashed, also known as indoctrinated) on what to say, and they didn't prepare her for a question about the lack of geography knowledge among Americans.

She reminds me of the character "Molly" in the book "Animal Farm".

It's funny how I hated that book as a kid and as an adult I see the genius of it.

As painful as that was to watch, the part I can't get over is that 1/5 of Americans cannot locate the US on a world map! The US?? I can see not being able to locate other countries (not that that is a good thing), but the US? That is sad!

Ever see that Abercrombie-and-Fitch t-shirt that girls are wearing?

It says: Who needs brains when you have these?

THAT's what's wrong with America.

I'm sure she was at the top of her class, all right -- she knew how to parrot the media. And maybe her likeness to Barbie and her lack of intelligence made her a good candidate for the public school honor roll.

If Americans are brought up thinking that all they are good for is to be used as props, then ... well, you can guess.
