A Public Service - Find The Least Expensive Gasoline Near You

Because your time is valuable, I'd like to help you in your quest to economize. Here's a nifty little web page. Just enter your zip code on this site, and it tells you which gas stations have the cheapest prices (and the highest) on gas in your zip code area. It's updated every evening. You will see a map of your area and then scroll down and you will get a listing of gas prices in your area with addresses and brands starting with the cheapest and going up.

Here is also an interesting website - Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update

AAA also has average prices by state

And here is a list of Cheapest gas prices in CT of course if you live near the Massachusetts border you can pay about 15-20 cents less and avoid the higher CT gas tax.

MSN collects the data from gas stations themselves; the two times I have used this "advice" the prices were higher once I arrived at the station.

I suppose that happens - I personally haven't had that happen to me - but seeing how prices fluctuate so quickly it doesn't surprise me.

You know, we pay more for gas at our little corner store for two reasons: the gas she carries has no alcohol, and - I love this - the owner has refused delivery on several occasions because the price they charged her was too high for her to keep her prices at the pump reasonable. She said she'd just wait to see if it went back down by the next scheduled delivery (it did), and apologized pre-emptively in case she ran out of gas. We generally pay about .03 to .05 more per gallon at her station than at the larger ones, but we feel it's a good choice.
