Rick Santelli's Response To The White House

You tell 'em Rick!
We read the plan too, and it still stinks!

Allowing Judicial Modifications of Home Mortgages During Bankruptcy When A Borrower Has No Other Options ???? So any judge can change a contract??? What?? Is the White House nuts??

Since when does an un-involved party get to rewrite the terms of a contract in this country?

When you sign on the dotted line that is your responsibility.

What we need is banks to work with their customers to resolve their foreclosures... we don't need government and judges inserting themselves into the process.

Santelli gave the plan the treatment it deserved - he ripped it up.
It's refreshing to see this on a cable news station.

While Mr. Gibbs is on the subject of having people read stuff...How about we give Mr. Gibbs a reading assignment?

How about:

United States Constitution
Federalist Papers
Bastiat: The Law
The Jefferson Letters
Anti-Federalist Papers
Articles of Confederation
Declaration of Independence
Thomas Paine's Common Sense
Washington's Farewell Address
Patrick Henry: "Give Me Liberty" Speech
Adam Smith: The Wealth of Nations
John Adams: Thoughts on Government
John Locke: Second Treatise of Civil Government
The Creature from Jekyll Island

As for a tea party....

From the Chicago Tea Party website:

On April 1st, our establishment will know that our freedom to succeed can no longer be sacrificed at the risk of our future.

With sincerity and respect, we ask that you join us on April 1st, 2009, in sending the Oval Office a Tea Bag, in honor of the party in Boston on December 16, 1773, and in anticipation of its nationwide symbolic re-enactment in the summer of 2009.

Commenters are suggesting that a more apporpriate day for a protest be April 15... Tax Day.

There seems to be a consistent mantra that any dissent must be rooted in ignorance. That if one truly understood the issue or the proposal at hand, one could not fail to be in favor of it.
