Gee, that means me!
I have "End The Fed" AND "Ron Paul" stickers on my car.
Whodathunk I could be classified by these boneheads in Missouri as some sort of “militia” influenced possible domestic terrorist?
I am just a homeschooling mom who does laundry, blogs and goes to Tea Parties, and pays taxes, but MIAC believes that their law enforcement people should keep an eye out for folks like me.
The MIAC report instructs the Missouri police to be on the lookout for supporters displaying bumper stickers and other paraphernalia associated with the Constitutional, Campaign for Liberty, and Libertarian parties.
Talk about profiling! Whoa!
And now I honestly wonder if CT has such a report circulating among its law enforcement.
Now after they put out this report the good folks at MIAC have decided to apologize
The director of the Missouri Department of Public Safety has ordered certain portions of a controversial intelligence report excised after widespread backlash from the public.Truth be told, the damage from this type of Homeland Security report is done. The profiling will go on in the way that they initially intended and it is more likely that they really aren't sorry for putting out this information. They are probably more sorry that the information leaked and that they got so many complaints and media backlash from it. (Here is Glenn Beck's piece)
In a letter dated March 23, Public Safety Director John Britt told third-party presidential candidates U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party and Bob Barr of the Libertarian Party that he was ordering the “Modern Militia Movement” report altered to delete their names and the names of their political parties as possible indicators of militia involvement.
All I can say is at least I am in good company with those who believe in Liberty and Freedom.
See you at the very next Tea Party in Connecticut! (Stamford March 28th and Hartford April 15)
I'll be sure to bring my Gadsden flag.
P.S. It is very interesting that this MIAC report was out a few weeks prior to the big Campaign For Liberty Convention in St. Louis., Missouri... now that wasn't really coincidence, was it?
UPDATE 03/27/09 - "The Missouri Highway Patrol this week retracted a controversial report on militia activity and will change how such reports are reviewed before being distributed to law enforcement agencies. The Highway Patrol also will open an investigation into the origin of the report, which linked conservative groups with domestic terrorism and named former presidential candidates Ron Paul, Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin. "
Yes, well so much for the Missouri arm of Homeland Security.. can we expect more of this type of government trash reporting from the Department of Homeland Security? Maybe if they did more to chase down illegal aliens committing actual crimes and did less of this idiotic profiling, we'd be better off.
