It's called SPLASH
Once a year, MIT students (in Boston, of course) put together an awesome program of entertaining and educational courses for just $30! It is an incredible bargain and more than well worth the money for up to 20 hours of class time.
Here's their shpiel:
Do you want to take a class about...
- Design and Analysis of Roller Coasters
- Paradoxes of Democracy
- Fun with Fractals
- Aircraft Jet Engines
- How to Make a Pixar Movie
- The French Revolution
- Stage Fighting
...or any of 400 other awesome topics?
Then you should come to Splash! Splash offers a series of short classes and workshops like the ones listed above, and you can take up to 20 hours of classes.
Splash takes place the weekend before Thanksgiving (11/21-11/22) at MIT.
You can register for one Splash class at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 3, and for an unlimited number of classes beginning at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 4.
You can find out more at http://esp.mit.edu/learn/Splash/index.html, or email us at splash@mit.edu.
You can also connect with other students who are attending by RSVPing for the Facebook event at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=153115438001
We hope to see everyone there!

If you aren't close enough to drive, then book a hotel room for the weekend and make a family getaway. If your kids can attend this (parents there are parent lounges you can hang out in) then they should do so - it's great fun and a really great experience.
My kids loved it.
