No Fishing Allowed

Wow - this gets better by the day... The Obama Administration is just out of control! Now comes a threat of an idiotic ban that some say will not only ban commercial fishing in certain waters, but will also ban recreational fishing in American lakes, streams and oceans.

The New York Times reported on Feb. 12 that "President Obama and his team are preparing an array of actions using his executive power to advance energy, environmental, fiscal and other domestic policy priorities."

World Wildlife Fund, Greenpeace, Defenders of Wildlife, Pew Environment Group and others produced a document entitled "Transition to Green" shortly after Obama was elected in 2008. Obama created a task force, and with these groups they cooked up a report with stated problems and recommendations entitled "Recommendations for the Adoption and Implementation of an Oceans, Coasts, and Great Lakes National Policy." Of course there is much reference to "overfishing," and all the rules and regulations and bureaucracy that should be created to prevent it. There is also mention of all sorts of United Nations initiatives, International Conventions and Treaties and other global initiatives that they wish The United States to participate in.

They used phrases like "We continue to use destructive fishing practices that result in damage to habitat and the wasteful deaths of juvenile fish, seabirds, sea turtles, and other marine life" and they recommend lots of rules and regulations and making many many areas protected areas. Of course any fishing is "destructive fishing" in these eco-nazi's view. They would probably like all waters to be off limits.

They want the Obama administration to "Establish the national oceans, coasts, and Great Lakes policy and an implementing framework in an Executive Order."

I'd like to know where in the Constitution it is stated that Obama and his administration have the power to do this.

In October, the American Sportfishing Association reported:
A sweeping oceans and Great Lakes management policy document proposed by the Obama Administration will have a significant impact on the sportfishing industry, America’s saltwater anglers and the nation’s coastal communities. The draft policy, the Interim Report of the Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force, issued on September 17, will govern federal Pacific and Atlantic Ocean waters and Great Lakes resource conservation and management and will coordinate these efforts among federal, state and local agencies. This past June, President Obama created the Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force, led by the Chair of the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), to develop a draft national policy and implementation strategy for conserving and managing the United States ocean territory and the Great Lakes.
This looks like a first move by the Obama administration to totally dismantle the fishing industry, and make the fruits of the sea (and other bodies of water) more expensive for consumers, as well as to destroy recreational fishing and the businesses that support it.

Is there anything the Obama administration doesn't want to control in this country?

and here is this for comic relief:
