Schiff Gets On The Primary Ballot !

It's historic!
No one in Connecticut has ever qualified for a statewide primary by petitioning!

There are 2 ways to qualify for being on the Republican primary ballot for this Senate seat:

1) Win the the support of at least 15 percent of the delegates at a state nominating convention. That didn't happen for Schiff - and we can debate all day as to why that was the case, but there are those who attended who believe that there were some pretty questionable tactics used at this "convention". There were more than just Schiff that decided to go the petition route and refused to accept the CT Republican establishment's "nominee".

2) Collect signatures from 2 percent of the registered Republicans in Connecticut. Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz said that the registrars of voters validated 8,697 signatures. That was 429 more than the required 8,268 names.

Now that he is going to go on to the primary in August, the voters of Connecticut will have a choice as to who they think should carry the Republican standard against Richard Blumenthal.

Will it be the former wrestling executive and fantasy script writer, Linda McMahon, who has an unlimited war chest of self- funding (which thus far has bought her underwhelming support)? Or the "non-candidate" Simmons who already has had his shot at being a Congressman. Or will it be Peter Schiff; a dynamic businessman and economist who has the right ideas about how Washington and our economy should work. Given the state of our economy, there is no better choice for Senator representing Connecticut then Peter Schiff.

Peter Schiff is the grassroots candidate, supported by all of the Liberty and Tea Party organizations in CT. He's been endorsed by the Republican Liberty Caucus. He's also been endorsed by Sen. John A. Kissel of Enfield, CT. (Let's hope that other Republicans in our CT legislature wise up).

An excerpt from Schiff's press release:
"I look forward to waging a competitive campaign and defeating Linda McMahon August 10th," Schiff added. "I am confident as voters learn more about me, they will like what they see and hear. From fighting to remove the government roadblocks preventing employers from creating jobs to keeping taxes low, I am the only one in the race with the skill-set necessary to help get our economy back on track."

A staunch believer that America can no longer borrow to live beyond its means, Schiff pledges to use expertise garnered from building a successful investment company to stop growing the government and start growing our economy.

Congratulations to Peter Schiff, and to all of his supporters/volunteers, who helped make history in Connecticut!

Now let's make more history!
Let's get Schiff a primary win, and the ultimate win against Dick "I served in Vietnam, and Dodd did no wrong" Blumenthal.
