America's Socialist President Speaks To Business

It's interesting to me that someone who has absolutely zero understanding of how business works, one who has never run a company or done a profit/loss statement or has had to meet a payroll, can stand in front of a group of American businessmen and tell them what to do with their profits or company benefits.

Clearly standing before them is a man who supports more restrictions on the way they do business, yet he has made sure to grease the palms of his big corporate friends by giving them massive government welfare in the form of TARP and other payouts so they "do not fail". Rewarding poor business models and chastising those models that do work; now that's what I call a cockeyed way to run an economy.

Obama has the audacity to stand and lecture the Chamber of Commerce businessmen about THEIR responsibilities? Really?

Are there unscrupulous corporations out there?
Sure.
...and Obama and his cronies have kept many of them afloat with corporate welfare paid for by your hard earned tax dollar and borrowed Chinese money. Money which your children and grandchildren will also be paying interest on. And Obama lectures businessmen about responsibility? Good one.

Obama said in a 35 minute speech to the Chamber of Commerce,
"If we're fighting to reform the tax code and increase exports, the benefits cannot just translate into greater profits and bonuses for those at the top. They have to be shared by American workers, who need to know that expanding trade and opening markets will lift their standard of living as well as your bottom line."

Have to be shared?
Really?

Since when is it the president's place to tell businesses what to do with their profits? or how much to compensate employees.
Since when does a business HAVE to share it s profits with anyone other than its shareholders?

If American workers want a share in the profits they can buy stock in the company that they work for. It's as simple as that. Companies do not need the dictator in chief to tell them to "spread their wealth around". It's not like people are working for these companies for free. They ARE getting a benefit by having a job and making wages and enjoying the many benefits companies offer to their employees. And you still have the freedom in this country to work wherever you please, or go into business for yourself if you are not satisfied with how you are being treated at your place of work.

And when profits for a corporation go negative - should those losses be shared with the workers as well? That would seem fair, don'tcha think?

Obama should be more concerned with creating stability in this country so that businessmen will be more apt to take a risk, create a job, or produce a new product. Instead he creates more uncertainty, more dependency on government, and more ways to stick the hand of government into the entrepreneurs pocket.

In this 35 minute speech the Chamber clapped twice... they clapped for him because of a joke he told, and then they clapped when it was over.

This president is no friend to American business, and certainly no friend to the Free Market.
They know it too.
He'd nationalize them all in a heartbeat... tell them what prices to charge and how much to give their employees, what products to make and what government agency to send all their profits to. He'll support the unions that choke them to death too. On top of that, sue them if they dare want to go outside the US borders to try and turn a profit.

Might as well just Go Galt.

I am reminded of the unscrupulous used car salesman who counters every objection you have to the clunker he is trying to sell you by trying to convince you it is a "feature" and not a fault. Obama is not trying to help small business he is trying to absorb them into the "Borg".
