Also dubbed "The Magical Misery Tour", the black behemoth is scheduled for a 3-day tour of three midwestern states taking Obama to Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois.
The White House statement was that Obama's tour is a chance to let the president hear stories from real Americans across the country who are suffering from the effects of a slumping economy. (Which he helped slump)
Oh, I bet he'll hear an earful if the handlers and pre-screeners allow it.
And of course, when Obama is finished with his little tour to "hear the woes and stories from Real Americans (i.e. the serfdom)" and do his campaigning - he'll be off to Martha's Vineyard.
But honestly - an all black bus?
Like the color of a hearse - or Darth Vader's helmet.
Even the Brits are calling it a "Police Mortuary Van".
It looks evil.
And with the massive cost of this armored bus - comes the cost of The White House additionally reserving the entire historic Hotel Winneshiek in Decorah, Iowa, and 60 rooms at nearby Luther College, for just one stop on the tour. (Washington Times)
Keith Koffler writes:
"This is some great video of the Obama Spookymobile cruising through some town in Minnesota. As a reporter I’ve seen and been in a lot of presidential motorcades, and I’ve never seen anything this long. There must be an army a secret service along for the ride – undoubtedly a good idea – as well as a slew of White House staff.
In any case... this presidential bus cost the taxpayer's plenty!
$1.1 million in fact... and they bought 2 of them!
and it wasn't even made in America! (How's THAT for sending jobs across the border?)
...purchased by the Secret Service, an impenetrable-looking conveyance the size of a cross-country Greyhound, painted all in black, with dark tinted windows and flashing red and blue lights. But - they don't call him the "Green President" for nothing.
Seems like he should be called the "hypocrite in chief".
They probably used enough fuel in that motorcade to power a small city for a week.
No fuel efficient vehicles in that parade!
and it is interesting to compare the Obama "Misery Tour" bus with Palin's One Nation Tour...
Stark difference for sure (and I am no Palin fan).
