Obama - The Official Dictator In Chief

When a country's leader decides for himself what laws to uphold and what laws to ignore then we indeed have in our midst a dictatorship.

Forget what side of the issue you are on regarding gay and traditional marriage.. it doesn't matter ... the fact of the matter is that Obama has decidedly given the Justice Department the orders not to uphold the Defense of Marriage Act, which was a a bill signed into law by President Bill Clinton. The Obama administration has removed its legal support for the federal Defense of Marriage Act, stating that the law fails to meet constitutional scrutiny standards and therefore the administration is under no obligation to defend it.

So when did Obama become the judge and jury?
No such decision regarding constitutionality of DOMA took place in any courtroom – the Obama Department of Justice has taken it upon itself to declare it unconstitutional. This is the act of a dictator. As Ulsterman states:
The result is yet another example of the law of the land being willfully ignored by the Obama White House simply because it has decided it does not like the law. No decision by the Supreme Court overturning the law. No bill passed in Congress making it so. Simply the decision of the Executive Branch.
Just as it was an act of a dictator to ignore the court rulings having to do with the unconstitutionality of Obamacare.. or the court rulings regarding the unconstitutionality of the moratorium Obama placed on offshore oil drilling in the Gulf, this is another example of the Obama administration disregarding the Rule of Law.

Where is the outrage?

Freedom is truly at peril as we now have a sitting President who is purposefully choosing to ignore some laws, while supporting others, regardless of his own defined powers of office and borne purely because of political self-interest.

He sues states that are protecting themselves and their citizens and defies governors who are trying to restore fiscal sanity in accordance with their own state constitution.

Ulsterman writes:
President Obama’s recent and strongly supportive comments (and substantial amounts of money) toward the striking union workers in Minnesota, and now other states in the country – workers who are in violation of their contracts, obtaining false physician notes, who have aggressively threatened Republican lawmakers, and are grinding the government of Wisconsin and other states to a halt at the cost of tens of millions of taxpayer dollars. Obama’s support of such actions again emphasizes his now open preference toward lawlessness when that lawlessness involves his own political enablers.

These are truly signs of a dictatorship.
We cannot abide by these actions.
To do so would condone leadership that feels it is above the law - and one who feels that they can create and interpret laws as they wish.

Until the laws are changed - and court rulings are appealed and reversed - the Rule of Law must be followed - by our president and his Justice Department. To do otherwise is just proof that Obama is now the dictator of the United States.

President's Day - A Very Merry Un-Birthday!

George Washington was born on February 11, 1731, based on the Julian calendar then in use in the British Colonies. When the Gregorian calender was adopted in the English Colonies (1752), he opted to begin observing his birthdate anniversary on the equivalent date of February 22, 1732.

Thomas Jefferson was born on April 2, 1743 of the Julian calendar, or April 13 of the Gregorian calendar, which was adopted 9 years after he was born (1752)

Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809.

Presidents Day? It's not Washington or Lincoln's birthday today! And there really is no statutory federal designation or holiday called "Presidents Day". But, the malls are having great sales, schools are closed and federal employees have the day off. Let me explain.

Up until 1971, February 22 was observed as a federal holiday to honor the birthday of George Washington. People used that day to remember a great man, and to celebrate. Washington's Birthday was the first federal holiday to honor an American citizen, and was was celebrated on Washington's actual birthday according to the Gregorian calendar. It was originally implemented by the federal government in 1880 in the District of Columbia and expanded in 1885 to include all federal offices.

Lincoln's birthday was never made a federal holiday, however it is a legal holiday in the U.S. state of Illinois and in some other states. It is observed on the anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth on February 12, 1809.

In 1971, the Uniform Monday Holiday Bill of 1968 was enacted. It was legislation designed to give federal employees more three day weekends. In the case of what is called "Presidents Day"; Washington's birthday is still celebrated, but not now always on his actual birthday, and since Lincoln's birthday was nearby on the calendar, many took the opportunity to combine the two and just call the federal Monday holiday in honor of Washington's birthday in February, "Presidents Day". This of course, has worked quite well for retailers, and now we are used to thinking, that this holiday was meant to honor all presidents. According to federal Statute, that really wasn't the case.

There are lots of urban legends out there about this holiday, but the truth is that it really still is the celebration of Washington's birthday and has morphed into "Presidents Day" by popular observance, mostly pushed by retailers. The mythology of Presidents Day being a celebration of all presidents, is also unfortunately taught to our kids in school. I am sure they have absolutely no idea what the real meaning of this day off is all about.

Read the actual statute..
TITLE 5 > PART III > Subpart E > CHAPTER 61 > SUBCHAPTER I > § 6103
The following are legal public holidays:
New Year’s Day, January 1.
Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr., the third Monday in January.
Washington’s Birthday, the third Monday in February.
Memorial Day, the last Monday in May.
Independence Day, July 4.
Labor Day, the first Monday in September.
Columbus Day, the second Monday in October.
Veterans Day, November 11.
Thanksgiving Day, the fourth Thursday in November.
Christmas Day, December 25.

An explanation of Federal Statute regarding holidays says this:
1968—Subsec. (a). Pub. L. 90–363 added Columbus Day, the second Monday in October, to the enumerated legal public holidays, and substituted provisions that Washington’s Birthday, Memorial Day, and Veterans Day are to be celebrated on the third Monday in February, the last Monday in May, and the fourth Monday in October, respectively, for provisions that the above mentioned public holidays are to be celebrated on February 22, May 30, and November 11, respectively.
So happy Washington's un-birthday and I hope that you enjoy the day just the same.

South Carolina Lawmaker Proposes New State Currency

A South Carolina state lawmaker wants the state of South Carolina to develop its own gold and silver based currency just in case the Federal Reserve collapses and hyper-inflation hits.

As long as they are not replacing a fiat currency with another fiat currency then the idea has much merit.
A Gold/Silver standard makes total sense!

More states better start doing this, because Zimbabwe Ben and the Fed are on a path to destroying the US dollar (drumroll: enter a new WORLD currency)

By the way - South Carolina is not alone:
A bill in Georgia would require all debts to the state be paid in pre-1965 gold and silver coins. The Virginia proposal would let the state print its own money. Meanwhile, one politician in Utah wants to cut out the middleman entirely and allow the state's residents to run their very own mints.

END THE FED!

The U.S. Economy Is Being Gutted - 21 Signs

The Destruction of Empire

It's tragic really.
Such destruction.
I am loathe to see it in my lifetime.
The America that we grew up in is slipping away.
We have given so much in the name of "globalism" that we as a nation, are committing suicide.

I came upon this post:

Once upon a time, the United States was the greatest industrial powerhouse that the world has ever seen. Our immense economic machinery was the envy of the rest of the globe and it provided the foundation for the largest and most vibrant middle class in the history of the world. But now the once great U.S. economic machine is being dismantled piece by piece. The U.S. economy is being gutted, neutered, defanged, declawed and deindustrialized and very few of our leaders even seem to care. It was the United States that once showed the rest of the world how to mass produce televisions and automobiles and airplanes and computers, but now our industrial base is being ripped to shreds. Tens of thousands of our factories and millions of our jobs have been shipped overseas. Many of our proudest manufacturing cities have been transformed into "post-industrial" hellholes that nobody wants to live in anymore.

Meanwhile, wave after wave of shiny new factories is going up in nations such as China, India and Brazil. This is great for those countries, but for the millions of American workers that desperately needed the jobs that have been sent overseas it is not so great.
...

The following are 21 signs that the once great U.S. economy is being gutted, neutered, defanged, declawed and deindustrialized....

#1 The U.S. trade deficit with the rest of the world rose to 497.8 billion dollars in 2010. That represented a 32.8% increase from 2009.

#2 The U.S. trade deficit with China rose to an all-time record of 273.1 billion dollars in 2010. This is the largest trade deficit that one nation has had with another nation in the history of the world.

#3 The U.S. trade deficit with China in 2010 was 27 times larger than it was back in 1990.

#4 In the years since 1975, the United States had run a total trade deficit of 7.5 trillion dollars with the rest of the world.

#5 The United States spends more than 4 dollars on goods and services from China for every one dollar that China spends on goods and services from the United States.

#6 In 1959, manufacturing represented 28 percent of all U.S. economic output. In 2008, it represented only 11.5 percent and it continues to fall.

#7 The number of net jobs gained by the U.S. economy during this past decade was smaller than during any other decade since World War 2.

#8 The Bureau of Labor Statistics originally predicted that the U.S. economy would create approximately 22 million jobs during the decade of the 2000s, but it turns out that the U.S. economy only produced about 7 million jobs during that time period.

#9 Japan now manufactures about 5 million more automobiles than the United States does.

#10 China has now become the world's largest exporter of high technology products.

#11 Manufacturing employment in the U.S. computer industry is actually lower in 2010 than it was in 1975.

#12 The United States now has 10 percent fewer "middle class jobs" than it did just ten years ago.

#13 According to Tax Notes, between 1999 and 2008 employment at the foreign affiliates of U.S. parent companies increased an astounding 30 percent to 10.1 million. During that exact same time period, U.S. employment at American multinational corporations declined 8 percent to 21.1 million.

#14 Back in 1970, 25 percent of all jobs in the United States were manufacturing jobs. Today, only 9 percent of the jobs in the United States are manufacturing jobs.

#15 Back in 1998, the United States had 25 percent of the world’s high-tech export market and China had just 10 percent. Ten years later, the United States had less than 15 percent and China's share had soared to 20 percent.

#16 The number of Americans that have become so discouraged that they have given up searching for work completely now stands at an all-time high.

#17 Half of all American workers now earn $505 or less per week.

#18 The United States has lost a staggering 32 percent of its manufacturing jobs since the year 2000.

#19 Since 2001, over 42,000 U.S. factories have closed down for good.

#20 In 2008, 1.2 billion cellphones were sold worldwide. So how many of them were manufactured inside the United States? Zero.

#21 Ten years ago, the "employment rate" in the United States was about 64%. Since then it has been constantly declining and now the "employment rate" in the United States is only about 58%. So where did all of those jobs go?

...

The great U.S. economic machine is being ripped apart and dismantled right in full view of us all.

This is not a "conservative" issue or a "liberal" issue. This is an American issue.

The United States is rapidly being turned into a "post-industrial" wasteland.

It is time to wake up America.

The government cannot spend our way out of this.
The government cannot print their way out of this.
They are making it far worse.
I can only conclude that this is by design.
They are marching us toward a global currency and a global governing body.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is pressing for that.
We lose our economy and we lose our sovereignty.
Game over.

We must continue to protest - speak up - reveal the truth - spread the message and demand that our elected representatives stop this destruction!

We must do it for our children and grandchildren.
They are the ones who will be paying a very, very dear price.

"all nations fail to learn the lessons of history that all nations and their leaders fall prey to their own narcissistic hubris and that all eventually collapse from within" - Paul B. Farrell, MarketWatch

We have very definitely failed to learn the lessons of history.
History that they no longer teach in government schools.

Preparing For Large Scale Economic Breakdown and Civil Unrest

The economy is not getting better - people are still losing their jobs - taxes are going up - people are squeezed. Meanwhile, our government - the same government that caused this mess - is quietly training and making plans to deal with economic and social unrest/collapse. This isn't merely time passing war-games. They know what is coming.

Apparently, the Army has been conducting war games called Unified Quest 2011, and part of it examines strategy to deal with the possibility of “large scale economic breakdown” inside of the United States, maintaining “domestic order amid civil unrest” and dealing with fragmented global powers.

Some people have reported that U.S. Army soldiers are being trained to respond to domestic policing and enforcement issues. Posse Comitatus is out the window. It is said that the Army has been training in evacuation, detainment and riot response. Millions of our tax dollars are being spent to train our military to put down demonstrators, and control the population.

Just check out this photo.

(Photo taken by U.S. Airforce Tech. Sgt. Brian E. Christiansen, North Carolina National Guard at Vigilant Guard training exercise Ft. Richardson, Alaska - April 2010)

Notice the role playing of a protester with the sign "Food Now!"
There are other photos here.

FEMA suggests that every family have emergency preparedness supplies readily available, which would include food and water to last at least two weeks.

But honestly, what would you do if you woke up tomorrow and you were not able to use the money in your wallet? or a credit card? what if you had no electricity or heat or running water? What if your town began experiencing food supply disruptions, violence and looting? Would you be able to handle it? Would you be prepared? Would you expect the government to help you? Do you remember the government's "help" during Katrina?

Would you leave your house if government personnel mandated that you do so? What if they decided to confiscate certain personal property? Don't think it could happen? Do you remember Katrina?

This is why we need to support Oathkeepers!

The U.S. government and many of their counterparts around the world are getting ready - just in case - so maybe we all should too.

Just sayin'.

Neotame - Another Bad Sweetener

As if aspartame isn't bad enough - now we are subjected to a derivative of that.
It's called neotame and it's been around since 2002 - although its use has been limited.

Neotame.
N-[N-(3,3-dimethylbutyl)-L--aspartyl]-L-phenylalanine 1-methyl ester

Health advocate Dr. Mercola reports this:
Neotame is a chemical derivative of aspartame, and judging by the chemicals used in its manufacturing, it appears even more toxic than aspartame, although the proponents of neotame claim that increased toxicity is not a concern, because less of it is needed to achieve the desired effect.
Oh that's encouraging.. don't worry about the toxicity of this sweetener - because you only have to use a little of it ... isn't that just peachy.
Neotame is bad science brought to you by the Monsanto Company.

If Monsanto truly had nothing to fear with either of these artificial chemical sweeteners, they would have funded rigorous independent testing for safety. To date they have not, and they won't, because virtually every independent analysis of aspartame not conducted by Monsanto partners has revealed a long list of disturbing side effects, mostly neurological in nature.

Monsanto also has now sold the NutraSweet Company to someone else, but the approval of neotame came under Monsanto's ownership, and was most likely a result of Monsanto's cozy relationship with the FDA.
Isn't it heartwarming to know that we have government agencies truly hard at work looking out for us. Here we have a neurotoxin that's been approved for general use and not even adequately independently tested (if at all) - and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given it its blessing.

Dr. Mercola, and other natural health practitioners recommend that neotame be avoided... just like aspartame .. if you care about your health. I know for me, I get an immediate headache when I eat anything with aspartame - so I stay away from it. That stuff is poison.

Dr. Mercola continue with this:
But as if aspartame wasn't bad enough, NutraSweet (a Monsanto subsidiary at the time of neotame's approval) "improved" the aspartame formula, making neotame 7,000-13,000 times sweeter than sugar (sucrose) and 30-60 times sweeter than aspartame.
How did they do this?

In 1998, Monsanto applied for FDA approval for neotame, "based on the aspartame formula" with one critical addition: 3-dimethylbutyl, which just happens to be listed on the EPA's most hazardous chemical list.

So not only is neotame potentially more devastating to your health than aspartame, it is also approved for use in a wider array of food products, including baked goods, because it is more stable at higher temperatures.

What is 3-Dimethylbutyl?

Neotame is manufactured by combining aspartame with 3,3-dimethylbutyraldehyd, which was added to block enzymes that break the peptide bond between aspartic acid and phenylalanine, thereby reducing the availability of phenylalanine.

This eliminates the need for a warning on labels directed at people who cannot properly metabolize phenylalanine.

However, 3,3-Dimethylbutyraldehyde is categorized as both highly flammable and an irritant, and carries risk statements for handling including irritating to skin, eyes and respiratory system.

In other words, the NutraSweet company assures you that neotame is perfectly safe, while at the same time they manufacture neotame through a chemical reaction between aspartame and a substance that is highly flammable and a skin, eye and respiratory irritant (that must be handled with extreme caution by anyone involved in the manufacturing process).

Does this sound like something you want to put into your body?

It doesn't even sound like it should be for human consumption!
And what of the incestuous relationship between Monsanto and the tax funded government agency the FDA? Well let's just dig a little.

Many people actually consider the FDA to be a "subsidiary" of the Monsanto Company. It sounds impossible, but when you look at all the Monsanto executives who have gone through the revolving door between private industry and government oversight, a truly disturbing picture emerges of the foxes guarding the henhouse..

The FDA is packed by pro-business, pro-corporation advocates who often have massive conflicts of interest when it comes to protecting the health of the public.

In fact, the revolving door between private industry and government oversight agencies is so well established these days, it has become business as usual to read about scandal, conflicts of interest and blatant pro-industry bias, even when it flies in the face of science or the law.

A few examples include:

* FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg, a former dental amalgam company executive, helped subvert a federal judge's order to label mercury fillings as a hazard to children and pregnant women.
* The FDA's top medical-device regulator, Daniel Schultz, resigned following internal dissent over decisions that his critics said were too friendly to industry.
* Janet Woodcock, the director of the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, was accused of a massive conflict of interest stemming from an ethics complaint filed by Amphastar Pharmaceuticals Inc.
* The agency's list of corruptions and collusions is now a mile long. And each piece of new legislation aimed to improve its function seems to do just the opposite—making the FDA even more dependent upon financial support by Big Pharma.

Cozy eh?
It's downright nauseating.
And as for neotame being helpful in the "war on obesity"...
One of the biggest marketing and PR tactics for man-made chemical sweeteners has been the claim that they help in the battle against obesity. Folks, they don't. They never have and they never will.

The research and the epidemiologic data suggest the opposite is true, and that artificial sweeteners such as aspartame and neotame tend to lead to weight gain. As I've often said, there's more to weight gain or weight loss than mere calorie intake.

One reason for aspartame and neotame's potential to cause weight gain is because phenylalanine and aspartic acid – the two amino acids that make up 90 percent of aspartame and are also present in neotame -- are known to rapidly stimulate the release of insulin and leptin; two hormones that are intricately involved with satiety and fat storage.

Insulin and leptin are also the primary hormones that regulate your metabolism.

So although you're not ingesting calories in the form of sugar, aspartame and neotame can still raise your insulin and leptin levels. Elevated insulin and leptin levels, in turn, are two of the driving forces behind obesity, diabetes, and a number of our current chronic disease epidemics.

Over time, if your body is exposed to too much leptin, it will become resistant to it, just as your body can become resistant to insulin, and once that happens, your body can no longer "hear" the hormonal messages instructing your body to stop eating, burn fat, and maintain good sensitivity to sweet tastes in your taste buds.

What happens then?

You remain hungry; you crave sweets, and your body stores more fat.

Leptin-resistance also causes an increase in visceral fat, sending you on a vicious cycle of hunger, fat storage and an increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and more.

Then of course there is the money end of it.
There's big money in cheap artificial sweeteners.
Artificial sweeteners cost a great deal less than real sugar, corn syrup or molasses, so the processed food and beverage industry saves money by using LESS of these man-made chemicals to create MORE sweetness in their products.

Neotame is manufactured from aspartame, and builds on aspartame's ability to provide more sweetness from less raw material, as it is 30-60 times sweeter than aspartame.

Unfortunately, one byproduct your body creates by breaking down aspartame is formaldehyde, which is extremely toxic to your health even in very small doses. The NutraSweet Company claims the addition of 3,3-Dimethylbutyraldehyde to aspartame makes it more stable at higher temperatures, and reduces the availability of phenylalanine. But nowhere do they discuss the formation of formaldehyde when your body breaks down aspartame, which is the main ingredient of neotame.

In a search of pubmed.gov, the U.S. National Library of Medicine, which has over 11 million medical citations, neotame returns zero double-blind scientific studies on toxicity in humans or animals.

If neotame was indeed completely safe to ingest, you would think the NutraSweet Company would have published at least one double-blind safety study in the public domain? They haven't.

I'll be staying far away from this stuff.
Perhaps you should too.

The Collapse Of American Fiat Money - Can It Really Happen?

As Ben Bernanke and the Obama administration pump more dollars into circulation and our dollars become worth less (as in losing their buying power), what could happen as a result, is a collapse of our monetary system. Don't think it can't happen.
China and Russia are already making deals to swap products without using American currency. Other countries may follow suit.

When other nations decide to conduct business without the US Dollar - especially buying petroleum - we are done. Game over.

So what would happen if no one wanted our fairy dust backed fiat money anymore?
Check out these two videos and understand why petrodollar status is so important to us.

Meanwhile.. back at the Southwestern ranch.. Americans were subjected to rolling blackouts thanks to a failed American energy policy. US states were dependent on Mexican energy! Unbelievable.

That's the sort of thing that happens when you de-industrialize.

Please - we need swift and substantial policy changes in Washington immediately to stop this insane self-destruction!

Public Hearing On Gun Bills This Thursday In Hartford

Gun registration.. the only purpose to gun registration is to begin to take your guns away from you.
The Nazis did that too.

Remember Katrina?
They went house to house confiscating guns from law abiding citizens putting them at the mercy of criminals.

Criminals won't register their guns.
So what's the point of registration?
Only to let the government know who has them when they want to come take them away - that's all.

Criminals do not abide by the laws.
Why are they making it more difficult to be a law abiding gun owner?
How will that keep the public safe?

Come to the public hearing on Thursday at 10 am at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.
Contact the legislators sitting on the Public Safety Committee and tell them what you think.
Tell them what you think of the lousy anti-second amendment legislation being proposed.
One bill presented does not even have wording to it - its just a "concept".
How do you have a public hearing on a bill that has no proposed language?

Some of these bills are unenforceable at best.
This is yet more dopey knee jerk reactions from anti-gun legislators who know nothing about owning a firearm, but want to make it look like they are doing something about crime in CT.

Come out and oppose these bills:
OPPOSE
HB 5800 AN ACT REQUIRING REGISTRATION OF ALL FIREARMS Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 29-33 of the general statutes be amended to (1) require that (A) any person who purchases a firearm register the firearm within ten days of purchase, (B) any person who purchased a firearm prior to this statute's effective date register that firearm within ten days of the effective date, (C) any person owning a firearm renew registration every five years, and (D) anyone whose registered firearm is sold, stolen or lost report such sale, theft or loss within ten days of such event; and (2) provide that the Department of Public Safety receive the registrations required by subdivision (1) of this section. Statement of Purpose: To require registration of all firearms.

SB 42 AN ACT CONCERNING GUN SAFETY STANDARDS FOR FIRING RANGES Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 943 of the general statutes be amended to require gun safety standards for any target range that holds a regulatory or business license for the purpose of practicing shooting at that target range. Statement of Purpose: To establish gun safety standards for all firing ranges.
(There is no attached language to this bill at all!)

HB 6185 AN ACT CREATING A GUN OFFENDER REGISTRY. Purpose: To require that persons convicted of certain gun crimes register their names and addresses with the local police department for the municipality in which they reside.

Please come out and support these bills:

SUPPORT
HB 5263 AN ACT AUTHORIZING RENEWAL OF STATE PERMIT TO CARRY A PISTOL OR REVOLVER BY MAIL. Purpose: To permit the holder of a state pistol permit to renew the permit by mail.
HB 5270 AN ACT AUTHORIZING RENEWAL OF STATE PERMIT TO CARRY A PISTOL OR REVOLVER BY MAIL OR BY ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION. Purpose: To permit the holder of a state permit to carry a pistol or revolver to renew said permit by mail or by electronic submission
HB 5643 AN ACT CONCERNING THE CARRYING OF FIREARMS BY OUT-OF-STATE RESIDENTS. Purpose: To allow an out-of-state resident who holds a license or permit to carry from another state to carry firearms in this state
SB 547 AN ACT CONCERNING FIREARMS. To revise the applicability of the statute regulating the sale, delivery and transfer of handguns and to modify the definition of "assault weapon.
SB 554 AN ACT CONCERNING THE PISTOL PERMIT APPEALS PROCESS. Purpose To set certain time limits for pistol permit

Come testify .. let them know what you think.

America's Socialist President Speaks To Business

It's interesting to me that someone who has absolutely zero understanding of how business works, one who has never run a company or done a profit/loss statement or has had to meet a payroll, can stand in front of a group of American businessmen and tell them what to do with their profits or company benefits.

Clearly standing before them is a man who supports more restrictions on the way they do business, yet he has made sure to grease the palms of his big corporate friends by giving them massive government welfare in the form of TARP and other payouts so they "do not fail". Rewarding poor business models and chastising those models that do work; now that's what I call a cockeyed way to run an economy.

Obama has the audacity to stand and lecture the Chamber of Commerce businessmen about THEIR responsibilities? Really?

Are there unscrupulous corporations out there?
Sure.
...and Obama and his cronies have kept many of them afloat with corporate welfare paid for by your hard earned tax dollar and borrowed Chinese money. Money which your children and grandchildren will also be paying interest on. And Obama lectures businessmen about responsibility? Good one.

Obama said in a 35 minute speech to the Chamber of Commerce,
"If we're fighting to reform the tax code and increase exports, the benefits cannot just translate into greater profits and bonuses for those at the top. They have to be shared by American workers, who need to know that expanding trade and opening markets will lift their standard of living as well as your bottom line."

Have to be shared?
Really?

Since when is it the president's place to tell businesses what to do with their profits? or how much to compensate employees.
Since when does a business HAVE to share it s profits with anyone other than its shareholders?

If American workers want a share in the profits they can buy stock in the company that they work for. It's as simple as that. Companies do not need the dictator in chief to tell them to "spread their wealth around". It's not like people are working for these companies for free. They ARE getting a benefit by having a job and making wages and enjoying the many benefits companies offer to their employees. And you still have the freedom in this country to work wherever you please, or go into business for yourself if you are not satisfied with how you are being treated at your place of work.

And when profits for a corporation go negative - should those losses be shared with the workers as well? That would seem fair, don'tcha think?

Obama should be more concerned with creating stability in this country so that businessmen will be more apt to take a risk, create a job, or produce a new product. Instead he creates more uncertainty, more dependency on government, and more ways to stick the hand of government into the entrepreneurs pocket.

In this 35 minute speech the Chamber clapped twice... they clapped for him because of a joke he told, and then they clapped when it was over.

This president is no friend to American business, and certainly no friend to the Free Market.
They know it too.
He'd nationalize them all in a heartbeat... tell them what prices to charge and how much to give their employees, what products to make and what government agency to send all their profits to. He'll support the unions that choke them to death too. On top of that, sue them if they dare want to go outside the US borders to try and turn a profit.

Might as well just Go Galt.

No Spaghetti And Meatballs And No Crepes For Iranians

Foreign food cooking shows are verboten:
Iran’s state-run television has been banned from screening cooking shows that promote foreign cuisine as conservatives seek to fight Western influence in the Iranian culture, media reported on Sunday.

“From now on teaching how to cook non-Iranian dishes is banned,” deputy head of Iran’s state broadcaster Ali Darabi was quoted as saying by Aftabnews, a moderate website, and several other media outlets.

Iran boasts a rich cuisine and cooking shows are very popular, with chefs teaching a variety of Iranian and foreign recipes on daytime television.

Italian, Chinese and Indian dishes are also favoured by many Iranians, while officials warn against the increasing consumption of unhealthy fast food.

Private broadcasters and satellite television are banned in Iran but rooftops are dotted with satellite dishes and dozens of Persian-language channels beam a daily dose of politics and entertainment into the country.

Talk about the food police.
Imagine getting jailed for showing or watching reruns of Julia Child or the Galloping Gourmet?

This is statism and tyranny at its wurst.
(Pardon the pun... I just couldn't resist)

This is what happens when government is allowed to run amok and dictate how you live your life.

Celebrate your freedom today and watch a cooking show!

And Now A Message From The Peaceful Left

These were Leftist Demonstrators at a "progressive" rally in Palm Springs. This "Uncloaking the Kochs" rally sponsored by Common Cause, AFFCE, The Ruckus Society, 350, Greenpeace, Code Pink, the Progessive Democrats of America, and others, staged outside venue of Koch Brothers conference in Palm Springs.

They want to hang Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas - put him "back in the fields" and "string him up" - and his wife too!

Perhaps these are the REAL racists in our country!

Where are the jailings for hate speech?

Where is the Main Stream Media reporting these utterances of hate and violence?

Where is all this so-called civility that we are supposed to be having that the Left has so rabidly called for after the Tucson shooting? (which by the way, was perpetrated by a Leftist)?

Where or where is the Obama administration denouncing this from organizations that put him into office?

So here you have it - the real Progressives who "are for peace" but would like to torture and kill US Supreme Court justices and incite revolution and government overthrow.
Nice.

Hypocrites one and all.
The double standard is mind-blowing.

Yeah - they say they are ashamed to be Americans - I think it is the rest of us who should be ashamed that these hypocrites ARE Americans.

Oh - That Ron Paul.... He'll Be Asking The Fed Some Very Pointed Questions

You gotta love Congressman Ron Paul...
Chairman of the Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology Subcommittee, Ron Paul, Announces Subcommittee Hearing On The Federal Reserve’s Impact on Unemployment

He wants to know why after all the trillions the Fed has meted out - how come unemployment is still sky high?
“I’m very pleased to hold our first subcommittee hearing in the new Congress on a topic that could not be more critical, namely unemployment. Despite enormous amounts of monetary and credit expansion by the Federal Reserve in recent years, the nation’s unemployment picture remains bleak. While many focus on the impact of fiscal policies on employment, the effect of monetary policy often goes unexamined. In my view we are now experiencing the bust that inevitably results from the misallocation of capital and human resources in a period of artificially cheap credit. It is important to understand the Federal Reserve’s role in creating today’s unemployment crisis, while also highlighting that high unemployment and low economic growth can persist even in the face of tremendous monetary inflation.”

This hearing is entitled "Can Monetary Policy Really Create Jobs?" and its aim is to focus on the Federal Reserve’s recent actions for pouring more money into the economy and the likelihood those actions will reduce unemployment, and the critical role of the private sector in job creation.

This should be quite interesting.
Makes you want to grab some popcorn and sit in the front row!

Go get 'em Ron!
They got some 'splainin to do!

Just Who ARE The Moslem Brothers?

Hitler meets the Mufti

Sure - Egyptians should enjoy freedom and liberty; have elected leaders and a Constitution... if they want it. That is what the millions protesting in Cairo seem to be saying.

However, let's hope that their quest for freedom does not get hijacked by a worse "new boss".

It seems like a little history lesson is in order... and American Thinker has provided a very thorough one with regard to the Moslem Brothers/Brotherhood - the folks that some claim are behind all the unrest and protests in Egypt.
Perhaps you have heard the Moslem Brothers are the oldest and largest radical Islamic group, the grandfather of Hezbollah, Hamas, and al-Qaeda.

What you haven't been told is this: the Moslem Brothers were a small, unpopular group of anti-modern fanatics unable to attract members, until they were adopted by Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich beginning in the 1930s. Under the tutelage of the Third Reich, the Brothers started the modern jihadi movement, complete with a genocidal program against Jews. In the words of Matthias Kuntzel, "[t]he significance of the Brotherhood to Islamism is comparable to that of the Bolshevik Party to communism: It was and remains to this day the ideological reference point and organizational core for all later Islamist groups, including al-Qaeda and Hamas."
American Thinker goes on with a superb historical analysis of the Moslem Brothers - and why they are to be cause for concern. It is a must read.

The article concludes by saying:
In launching the Moslem Brothers' modern jihadi movement, Hitler did far more than enshrine anti-Semitism in the Middle East. As if some kind of divine punishment, the creation of jihadism also sabotaged the move towards modernity and representative government, ruining hopes for freedom and prosperity for the Arab people. The Brothers were the excuse for Mubarak's thirty years of emergency rule. The Brothers were central to both the PLO and Hamas, killing all hope for peaceful coexistence and prosperity for the Palestinian people. They had an early role in founding the Ba'ath Party in Syria and Iraq, turning those countries over to kleptocratic tyrants. Moslem Brothers taught Osama bin Laden, and their philosophy is considered the foundational doctrine of al-Qaeda.

Will history repeat itself? Or will the Egyptian people take back their country, throw off Hitler's long shadow, and begin again on the hopeful path to democracy and a decent life that they began at the beginning of the modern era?
Surely the Mubarek government failed to insure a free and prosperous society, hence the pot of discontent has finally boiled over.

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable" - John F. Kennedy

The Egyptian people need to take back their country and institute true principles of liberty and freedom, and not allow a different cancer to enslave them. Of course the Moslem Brotherhood will desperately try to "not let a good crisis go to waste" in this time of turmoil and revolution in Egypt.

We will see how the Egyptian people choose... and one hopes and prays that they choose very wisely for peace, freedom and prosperity and not hatred, tyranny and further enslavement. It looks like rule and influence by the Moslem Brotherhood will definitely afford them the latter.

Obamacare Is Unconstitutional

Says another Judge in Florida.
He is throwing out the whole healthcare bill as being unconstitutional.

The federal government has no power to mandate that we buy a product like insurance.
None.
There is no provision in the Constitution of the United States that gives them the power to dictate what products we should or should not buy.

Funny that the judge even used Barack Obama's own words in his ruling:
'“I note that in 2008, then-Senator Obama supported a health care reform proposal that did not include an individual mandate because he was at that time strongly opposed to the idea, stating that ‘if a mandate was the solution, we can try that to solve homelessness by mandating everybody to buy a house,’” Judge Vinson wrote in a footnote toward the end of the 78-page ruling Monday.'

but what do you expect from legislators like Chuck Schumer who cannot even properly name the 3 branches of government.

Hey Chuck... read the Constitution! You know, the document that you swore to protect and defend. (eyeroll)
