The Attack On Free Speech

You should understand that the attacks and protests in the Middle East really had nothing to do with a movie which purportedly made fun of the Prophet Mohammed. I will wager that most protestors had not even known about the movie, let alone seen it.

What this is, is another means by which the global elite will use a "crisis" to attempt to institute more control and erode our rights and freedoms. This time the attack is on free speech.

and who ...pray tell... will be the ones to determine what is or what is not blasphemy?

Alabama Fights Back On Agenda 21

In Baldwin County, Alabama, the citizens there succeeded in getting their County Commissioners to vote down the "Horizon 2025 comprehensive plan" because it is a "UN-inspired document designed to remove property rights". Alabama is the first state to outlaw funding of UN Agenda 21 policies.

Jane Nicholes of the Press-Register writes:
BAY MINETTE, Alabama -- Egged on by a large crowd invoking property rights, United Nations Agenda 21, the U.S. Constitution and even the Communist Manifesto, the Baldwin County Commission killed the Horizon 2025 comprehensive plan today.

Following the 3-1 vote, many in the audience sang "God Bless America."

"This battle is about more than just planning," said commission Chairman Bob James. "This battle is to protect the Constitution of the United States and, to me, the Ten Commandments."

The resolution "repealed, rescinded, voided and nullified," the plan, with that phrase boldfaced and in all capital letters. It also remanded the plan to the Planning and Zoning Commission with "instructions to prepare a revised Master Plan and corresponding Map" for county commission to consider. The new plan "shall not unlawfully infringe on protected private property rights without due process of law."

Horizon 2025, which laid out guidelines for land use and development, was approved three years ago. Commissioner Charles "Skip" Gruber, who voted for it in 2009, was the only commissioner who voted against the resolution Tuesday.

With a couple of breaks, the freewheeling public hearing on Horizon 2025 lasted about four hours. The commission’s meeting room was filled to capacity early on, and outbreaks of applause were common both during and after speakers’ comments. Some people carried small America flags.

Thirty-eight people spoke on the issue. Of that number, 31 wanted Horizon 2025 killed, while seven favored keeping it in place. Speakers were given no time limit, and James asked only a few to wind up their remarks.

"The people who created this plan have left no stone unturned in their attempt to regulate every square inch of land and every drop of water," said Richard Hyland of Spanish Fort. "If we don’t rescind it today, I think the next time we meet you’re going to have to rent the Mobile Civic Center."

Horizon 2025 was recommended by the county planning commission. It cost $280,000, and involved an outside consultant.

Several speakers derided the language in the plan that described it as being advisory only and offering guidelines for development. James agreed, saying that Mao Tse-tung, Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini espoused philosophies that were originally guidelines, and millions of people were killed.

Richard Thompson of Fairhope presented commissioners with copies of the 10 planks of the Communist Manifesto from Wikipedia. "We’re getting real close to the communistic plan here. Maybe with a little "c," not a big "C."

Speakers also said Horizon 2025 was tied into U.N. Agenda 21, which promotes sustainable development, and a few even tried to connect it with what they said was an attempt by the U.N. to get the United States to repeal the Second Amendment right to possess arms.

"I truly believe in the conspiracy," said Leonard Smart, who lives on Ala. 104 between Fairhope and Silverhill. "I’m not going to go into it, but I believe in it."

Also coming in for criticism were the "wildlife corridors" outlines in the plan. Intended to protect wildlife, the network of corridors runs through cities, across water and across the "megasite" being marketed to attract a major industry.

Orange Beach Councilwoman Pattisue Simpson asked an earlier speaker to bring back a map he had brought of the corridors. Once it was posted, she said it showed that if the wildlife corridors were made part of the planning process, it would end up dividing communities.

"It will move us backward. We will almost be de-civilizing ourselves," she said.

Dick Charles, a longtime member of Fairhope’s Planning Commission, said communities need some kind of plan, but Horizon 2025 went too far.

"I’ve been on the Planning Commission now since 1997. We think this is just a little bit overdone, to say the least. Our comprehensive plan is about one-tenth the size of this," he said.

The few speakers in favor of the plan made no headway with most of the commissioners.

Commissioner Frank Burt noted that he voted against Horizon 2025 in 2009 and was against it from the beginning. Commissioner Tucker Dorsey said the plan was one of the reasons he ran for his position.

Although Horizon 2025 is said to be advisory, Dorsey said he found language to the contrary. The word "policy" appears 778 times; "shall," 525 times; and "must," 51, he said.

Dorsey noted that although several public hearings were held when the plan was being drafted, he could find no minutes. Only 30 "real people" attended the meetings, he said; the rest were officials or other people connected with government.

As for the argument that rescinding the plan would amount to throwing away $280,000, Dorsey said, "That money was wasted by the last commission. They buried that money."

County Attorney David Conner told commissioners Horizon 2025 contradicts some zoning regulations and could open the county to legal liability on the grounds that it amounted to taking of property.

Most remaining in the audience were more than ready for the plan to be voted out. James praised them for turning out and said commissioners will also be looking at subdivision regulations, agencies that receive county funds such as the South Alabama Regional Planning Commission and the county’s own planning commission, which did not allow any public comment during its recent meeting on Horizon 2025.

"This is just a start," James said. "You need to stay involved."

Yom Kippur - 5773

"...In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and you shall not do any work ... For on that day he shall provide atonement for you to cleanse you from all your sins before the L-RD." -Leviticus 16:29-30

The Jewish Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the Jewish year.
It begins at sundown today and ends at sundown tomorrow.
Jews who observe this high holiday, fast during that time.
There are other aspects of this high holiday season between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur,  such as seeking forgiveness from anyone you have done wrong to - giving to charity - and doing some soul searching to see where you can improve how you conduct your life and relationships with others.
You can find out more about observances and such here.

Kol Nidre is the traditional prayer recited on the eve of Yom Kippur. The prayer is sung in synagogue by the cantor and sometimes accompanied by a choir. Here it is sung by Mordechai Ben David on the 1992 Chabad "To Life" Telethon. He is accompanied by pianist Yaron Gershovsky.

and the Kol Nidre prayer says: "All personal vows we are likely to make, all personal oaths and pledges we are likely to take between this Yom Kippur and the next Yom Kippur, we publicly renounce. Let them all be relinquished and abandoned, null and void, neither firm nor established. Let our personal vows, pledges and oaths be considered neither vows nor pledges nor oaths."

These vows and oaths are only the ones we make with God. Personal contracts and promises that we make with other people are not included. The leader and the congregation then say together three times "May all the people of Israel be forgiven, including all the strangers who live in their midst, for all the people are in fault."

In the service the Torah scrolls are then replaced, and the customary evening service begins.

What it means is that any and all rash vows made to God in the past year, and that for whatever reason were not fulfilled, could have created painful religious and ethical difficulties for those who had made them. There is an earnest desire for dispensation from them in order to wipe clean the slate for the new year. Thus came this rite of absolution from a vow ('hattarat nedarim'). The rite is performed as if in a court of Jewish law (Bet Din) which might be performed only by a scholar, or an expert on the one hand, or by a board of three Jewish laymen on the other. This rite declares that those who recite Kol Nidre, and are seeking reconciliation with God, solemnly retract the vows and oaths which they have made to God during the period intervening between the previous Day of Atonement and the present one; this rite makes those vows null and void from the beginning, entreating in their stead pardon and forgiveness from God. This is in accordance with the older text of the formula as it is preserved in the Siddur of Amram Gaon.

Some of the YouTube renditions of the Kol Nidre Prayer are really quite lovely, as is the musical performances.

I wish all my Jewish readers a Happy New Year - and an easy fast on Yom Kippur. G'mar Hatima Tova! May you be inscribed in the Book of Life. (Literally: 'A Good and Significant Finishing')

NJ Usurping Parental Rights

The People's Republic of New Jersey is seeking to erode parental rights when it comes to vaccination.
Forced vaccination of every child is on the way with new legislation that makes the rights of exemption much more burdensome.

All 50 states across the nation offer parents the ability to exempt their child(ren) from vaccination requirements. This week, however, New Jersey legislators advanced a bill that would make such exemptions harder for parents to acquire in an attempt to crackdown on “easy exemption policies”.

Senate Bill 1759 was approved 6-2 by the state’s Senate Health, Human Services, and Senior Citizens Committee last week. The bill, sponsored by Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg (D – Bergen) and Senator Joseph Vitale (D – Middlesex), would place a greater burden on parents to clarify a “valid reason” for not wanting their kids vaccinated. It would define and further restrict what the definition of a valid reason is, limiting options for opting out.

For example, parents would no longer be able to claim concerns about the safety of vaccines. A parent having a legitimate health concern over vaccine adjuvants and chemicals negatively impacting their child, potentially forever, would no longer count under the new law. Senator Vitale was quoted at the hearing as saying, “We cannot allow widespread exemption from immunization based on fear and false science.”

New Jersey, which allows for both medical and religious exemptions, would also require physician documentation “indicating that the vaccine is medically contraindicated for a specific period of time.”

The bill was supposedly drawn up due to a whooping cough outbreak in addition to a rise in parents claiming exemptions throughout the state in recent years. However, as reported previously by Natural News, research released earlier this year showed strong evidence that whooping cough outbreaks among vaccinated children were actually higher than in unvaccinated children.

In addition, Big Pharma giant GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) admitted the company’s whooping cough vaccine had never been tested for long-term efficacy, and that the shot does not provide long-term protection against the illness. It should be noted that a single injection of GSK’s Boostrix vaccine for diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough) would dose the average 11-year-old with 100 micrograms of formaldehyde and 400 micrograms of the heavy metal aluminum according to the National Vaccine Information Center.

Placing further burden on parents who want to opt out of vaccinations is a thinly veiled intimidation tactic states are now utilizing to dissuade parents from exempting their child(ren) from vaccinations. Like similar legislation that passed in Washington and that is in the process of passing in California, this bill serves only to further harm parental rights and perpetuate the idea that it is the state, and not parents, that knows what is best for a child.

The bill is now set to go to the full New Jersey Senate for a vote.
The text of the bill includes this:
"a written statement submitted to the secondary school or institution of higher education, as applicable, by the student, or the student's parent or guardian if the student is a minor, explaining how the administration of the vaccine conflicts with the bona fide religious tenets or practices of the student, or the parent or guardian, as appropriate; except that a general philosophical or moral objection to the vaccination shall not be sufficient for an exemption on religious grounds"

So if you have a moral or philosophical objection to a vaccine - or perhaps think it is unsafe - that is not sufficient grounds to be exempted. Parents no longer get to decide.

If this bill passes in NJ - the State will own every child in New Jersey and decide what gets pumped into his/her body.

And despite the fact that children are maimed and killed by certain vaccines - and that drug makers have been known to produce false data and lie about their products, these legislators who are promoting this legislation don't want parents not vaccinating due to "fear and false science" .. imagine that! I wonder how much in campaign donations these legislators are receiving from Big Pharma. I will wager this has more to do with money than whooping cough.

Philly.com posted this:
Legislation that would clarify what constitutes a legal exemption under New Jersey's school immunization law was approved by the state Senate Health, Human Services, and Senior Citizens Committee on Thursday after nearly three hours of contentious testimony. The bill now goes to the full Senate for a vote.

The bill (S.B. 1759) was approved, 6-2, after about a dozen people spoke, mostly against the bill, saying parents have a right to opt out of child immunization. The law would require documentation when a parent wants to exempt a student from mandatory immunizations for medical or religious reasons.
The bill to strengthen New Jersey's immunization policy was introduced after an outbreak of whooping cough this year.

The hearing was held the same day that a study was released by doctors at Emory University in Atlanta that found that nonmedical exemptions increased more rapidly in states with what it called "easy exemption policies" than in states with more stringent policies. Rates of exemptions for nonmedical reasons, the study found, were 2.31 times as high in states with less stringent rules.

Critics of the bill, who attended the hearing on Thursday wearing buttons that said "No on 1759," called it a violation of their religious and parental freedoms and questioned the safety and efficacy of vaccinations.

Proponents say the bill, sponsored by Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg (D., Bergen) and Sen. Joseph Vitale (D., Middlesex), would codify the exemption process, limiting the ability of parents to claim general philosophical or safety concerns as religious objections, and should lead to an increase in the percentage of students who are immunized. They say there has been a marked increase in the number of students who have claimed religious exemptions over the last five years.

"The intent of this bill is to spell out the very specific guidelines that a student or parent would have to go through to be exempted from mandatory student vaccination," Vitale said. "While we want to respect people's religious beliefs and legitimate medical concerns, we cannot allow widespread exemption from immunization based on fear and false science. Not only does it put the student at risk, but it creates a risk to the general public health and well-being."

Under the Senate bill, a student or a student's parents would be required to present a written statement from a physician "indicating that the vaccine is medically contraindicated for a specific period of time" and why, according to the bill's statement.

For a religious exemption, the student or parent would need to explain how the vaccine conflicts with "the bona fide religious tenets or practices of the student, or the parent or guardian." The bill says that "a general philosophical or moral objection to the vaccination is not sufficient for an exemption on religious grounds; and an exemption on religious grounds may be suspended by the commissioner of Health and Senior Services during the existence of an emergency as determined by the commissioner."

Opponents of the legislation said it infringed on their religious freedoms. They said meeting the new requirements would be both time-consuming and expensive and would put the government in the position of ruling on what constitutes legitimate religious belief.

"The legislation legitimizes a witch hunt," said Louise Kuo Habakus, director of the Center for Personal Rights, an anti-vaccination group. "The burdens placed on religious parents are too high."

Victoria Jakelsky, who also testified against the bill, echoed many of the concerns raised by Habakus. Jakelsky, who is state coordinator for parentalrights.org but was not speaking on behalf of the organization, said the bill raises constitutional questions.

"This bill, if passed, clearly is an overreach of power," she said. "If parents have objections to immunization, they should have the right to opt out."

Howard Britt, a pediatrician, testified in favor of the bill, saying that states have the authority to enact compulsory immunization laws and that there is "plenty of proof that vaccines work."

"The state has an overriding interest in protecting the health of the community," he said.

Drew Harris, chairman of the New Jersey Public Health Institute, said there had been a threefold increase in exemptions over the last four years, since the state streamlined the exemption process and allowed a simple statement to be submitted. The exemption has been used to mask other issues, he said.
If there has been an increase in exemptions by parents who do not want their children poisoned by vaccines then perhaps they should be investigating the vaccine makers instead of making it more difficult to opt out of vaccinations!

QE3

QE1 did not work.
QE2 did not work.
So let's monetize even more debt!

16 trillion in debt.... and counting.

Our money is being made worth less.
The banks win.
We lose.

Did you read that the dept of homeland security has purchased 1.2 billion rounds of live ammo - most likely to be used in the case of riots and rebellions?
Other agencies are also buying lots of ammo.

The government knows quite well the crash is coming.
It is preparing.

...and in the end we will be forced to cede our sovereignty to accommodate a world currency.

The destruction of the dollar is being done on purpose.
The destruction of our manufacturing is being done on purpose.
The destruction of our Republic is. being. done. on. purpose.

Talk Like A Pirate Day!

Talk Like a Pirate Day only comes once a year (on September 19th) ... unleash your inner buccaneer!

On talk like a pirate day, everyone talks as if they were a pirate. For instance, instead of saying something like this:

The commitee has decided to reallocate your time to the filing group. We look forward to the exciting new synergies between these departments.

You would say this:

Aye matey, those scalawags in their fine breeches want ye’ to move o’er with the scurvy dogs yonder. If ye’ don’t come back with some fine booty, we be keelhaulin’ you next morn!

Some tips on how to talk like a pirate can be found on these pages

Of course the State of CT celebrates "Take Money from Citizens Like A Pirate Day", every day. Arrrggghhh.

L'shanah Tova - Happy 5773!

...In the seventh month, on the first of the month, there shall be a sabbath for you, a remembrance with shofar blasts, a holy convocation. - Leviticus 16:24

Rosh Hashanah began at sundown yesterday.
It's the birthday of the world.
It begins the High Holy Days of the Jewish calendar.

For all my friends and readers - no matter what your faith or belief - My wish to you and yours:
"L'shanah tovah tikateiv v'taichateim"
"May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year."

From Chabad:
The central mitzvah of Rosh Hashanah is the sounding of the shofar. The shofar is a ram's horn, the oldest and most primitive of wind instruments, yet its call touches the innermost chords of the soul. Even if one cannot participate in the whole service, one should at least attempt to hear the sounding of the Shofar.

The sound of the shofar is to awaken people to repent and return to G-d. It is a call to evaluate our actions and improve our ways. The sound represents a simple, unaltered outcry of a person who wishes to come close to G-d but cannot find the words. G-d responds to that by granting us a good and sweet year.

On Rosh Hashanah we customarily eat foods that symbolize sweetness and abundance. We dip Challah into honey, and on the first night, we dip a piece of apple in honey and after the blessing on the apple we add, "May it be your will to renew for us a good and sweet new year."

On the second evening, right after Kiddush, we eat a new seasonal fruit we have not eaten this year (like pomegranates) and say the "Shehecheyanu" [prayer] praising G-d for bringing us to this day.
On the first day of Rosh Hashanah in the afternoon it is customary to go to a lake or river and say the Tashlich prayer and toss some bread into the water. This reminds us to leave our sins "into the depths of the sea" (Micha7:19) and start a new lease on life.

The New Year is a time to give to charity and do good deeds - to repair broken relationships - to apologize and make make amends with those we have wronged - and to take stock of what we are doing with our lives. It's a time of spiritual examination.
"The central observance of Rosh Hashanah is the sounding of the shofar, the ram's horn, which represents the trumpet blast of a people's coronation of their king. The cry of the shofar is also a call to repentance; for Rosh Hashanah is also the anniversary of man's first sin and his repentance thereof, and serves as the first of the "Ten Days of Repentance" which culminate in Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. Another significance of the shofar is to recall the Binding of Isaac which also occurred on Rosh Hashanah, in which a ram took Isaac's place as an offering to G-d; we evoke Abraham's readiness to sacrifice his son and plead that the merit of his deed should stand by us as we pray for a year of life, health and prosperity. Altogether, the shofar is sounded 100 times in the course of the Rosh Hashanah service."
I wish for you and yours that this coming new year be a sweet one filled with Health, Happiness, Peace and Prosperity.

PBJ's Considered Racist

More government school idiocy... this time from Portland, Oregon.
Here is the report from the Examiner:
In an effort to combat perceived discrimination, one Portland school seems to have gone off the deep end by suggesting peanut butter and jelly sandwiches carry racist connotations, Twitchy reported Monday.

According to the Portland Tribune, Verenice Gutierrez, principal of Harvey Scott K-8 School, "picks up on the subtle language of racism" on a daily basis.

"Take the peanut butter sandwich, a seemingly innocent example a teacher used in a lesson last school year," the Tribune said.

“What about Somali or Hispanic students, who might not eat sandwiches?” Gutierrez asked. “Another way would be to say: ‘Americans eat peanut butter and jelly, do you have anything like that?’ Let them tell you. Maybe they eat torta. Or pita.”

"Insert flabbergasted face," the Twitchy staff wrote.

One person asked on Twitter: "[W]hat's the verdict on grilled cheese? Racist? Sexist?"

"The food at my kids' schools hates everyone," tweeted Melissa Clouthier.

With the suggestion that a sandwich is racist, Twitchy said the discussion on race "has moved beyond slack-jawed incredulity into total self-parody territory."

"What is racist about a child’s lunch, one might ask? Peanut butter and jelly, of course! You racists probably even use black currant jelly sometimes. On white bread," Twitchy added.

The Tribune noted that the school started the new year with "intensive staff trainings, frequent staff meetings, classroom observations and other initiatives," to help educators understand their own “white privilege,” in order to "change their teaching practices to boost minority students’ performance."

"Last Wednesday, the first day of the school year for staff, for example, the first item of business for teachers at Scott School was to have a Courageous Conversation — to examine a news article and discuss the 'white privilege' it conveys," the Tribune added.

Gutierrez completed a week-long seminar called “Coaching for Educational Equity,” a program the Tribune says focuses "on race and how it affects life." She also serves on an administrative committee that focuses on systematic racism.

“Our focus school and our Superintendent’s mandate that we improve education for students of color, particularly Black and Brown boys, will provide us with many opportunities to use the protocols of Courageous Conversations in data teams, team meetings, staff meetings, and conversations amongst one another,” she said in a letter to staff.

One commenter at the Tribune observed that the phrase "as American as apple pie" could also be seen as racist if "people of color don't eat it."

"Guess what? When everything is racist, then nothing actually is," Twitchy said.

Totally ludicrous.
Progressive nonsense being spouted in government schools.... this time it is called "Courageous Conversations".
Yet another reason to homeschool your children.

Organic Food Is Bogus? Not Likely

With regard to the latest claims that organic foods are no healthier than conventionally grown foods - I found this article of interest and thought I'd share it with you:
If you read the mainstream news headlines today, you might be shocked to see headlines that say things like, “Organic foods no healthier than conventional foods” or “Organic foods may not be healthier for you.” You’ll see these headlines all across the usual disinfo outlets: NPR, Associated Press, Reuters, Washington Post, WebMD and elsewhere.

The problem with these headlines is that they are flatly false. The study these news outlets are quoting actually confirms that organic foods are far healthier for you than conventional foods.

So how is the mainstream media lying about this? By fudging the facts, of course.

For starters, the “study” isn’t even a study. It was just a review of other studies. No new laboratory analysis was done whatsoever!

The “review” was conducted at Stanford University and published in the Annals of Internal Medicine. You can read the abstract here

As the study itself concludes:

• Exposure to chemical pesticides was significantly lower in organic foods (roughly 30% less than conventional foods).

• Exposure to “superbugs” in meat (antibiotic-resistant bacteria) was also significantly lower in organic foods (roughly a 33% risk difference).

• The study conclusion says, right out, that “Consumption of organic foods may reduce exposure to pesticide residues and antibiotic-resistant bacteria.”

How the media lied
Somehow, the mainstream media took this study and then lied to their readers, claiming organic food is “no different” than conventional food. That is a flat-out lie, of course. Because it fails to mention all the following:

• GMOs are not allowed in organic foods. So GMO exposure is many orders of magnitude higher in conventional foods, where GMOs are commonplace.

• Artificial chemical sweeteners are not allowed in organic foods. But conventional foods are often sweetened with toxic chemicals such as aspartame [which is a known neuro-toxin] or saccharin [which has been shown to cause cancer].

• The study completely failed to look at the use of genetically-modified bovine growth hormones (rBGH) in conventional milk versus organic milk.

• The environmental impact of conventional food production is devastating to the planet. Chemical pesticides aren’t just found in the crops; they also run off into the streams, rivers and oceans. No mainstream media article that covered this story even bothered to mention this hugely important issue — it’s one of the primary reasons to buy organic!

• The funding source of the study is listed as “None.” Does anybody really believe that? All these scientists supposedly volunteered their time and don’t get paid to engage in scientific endeavors? It’s absurd. The money for the study had to come from somewhere, and the fact that the Annals of Internal Medicine is hiding the source by listing “none” is just further evidence of scientific wrongdoing.

A total psyop to confuse the public and push GMOs
Ultimately, this study comes down to being a total psyop pushed by the mainstream media for the purpose of confusing the public and ultimately promoting GMOs.

Personally, I prefer pure food without being doused in pesticides and chemicals. My apples do not need to look pretty - I would rather they not give me illnesses like cancer and neurological failure.

The fact is this - organically grown produce is healthier for you... it is also better for the environment. Organically and free range raised animals are also healthier for human consumption. They produce better meat and better eggs and better dairy products. I have personally seen and tasted the difference.

A vine ripened organic tomato tastes way better than some hot house grown chemical sprayed and irradiated tomato.
Grapes, berries and leafy greens should always be bought organic because chemicals and pesticides easily get into and stay within the cells of these foods.
Many people buy organic bananas because they don't want to be responsible for contributing to the illnesses that the people who harvest bananas develop as a result of harvesting sprayed bananas.

You can keep your Franken-foods.
I will take organic any day... especially if I grow it myself.

Best thing.. Buy local too!
Here is a helpful guide with regard to pesticides and produce.

The DNC Convention Is A Sham Too - Plus A Video From Peter Schiff

Just so you don't think that just the RNC Convention was a scripted event, you can also see that the DNC is also following its own script from their "leadership".. ignoring the will of their delegates.

From the Examiner:

The convention chair, Antonio Villaraigosa, proposed new language to change the platform to reinstate the previous language that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. A 2/3rds vote at the venue was needed to change the platform. Villaraigosa asked for the vote, and clearly, according to people at the scene, the "no's" had it. Villaraigosa repeated his call for the vote three times and all three times the "no's" appeared to outnumber the "aye's. Instead of asking for a roll call vote which is required by the rules, Villaraigosa chose to ignore the voters in the room and advance the new language, proclaiming, "In the opinion of the chair the aye's have it." This was clearly a denial of reality. Boos were heard throughout the arena.

This embarrassment illustrates a split between the Democratic Party elected officials and the grass roots Democrats. The elite is concerned that it could lose support and campaign contributions from the Israeli lobby. The rank and file do not care. About half of the Democratic Party faithful do not believe Jerusalem should be the symbolic capital of Israel. This divide was reflected in the voice vote that occurred today.

Grass roots Americans are increasingly disaffected by the power tactics of the national elites in both parties. This event today follows on the heels of an eerily similar power play pulled off by the Republican Party elites at their convention last week. There is a growing divide between the people of the country and the power players and their media partners in Washington. This divide is not going away and in all likelihood, it will grow after the 2012 election.

In that voice vote taken as to whether God and Jerusalem should be put back into the DNC platform - clearly the Nays had this one ...

This report from Yahoo News states:
Some delegates were angered by the change.

"There was no discussion. We didn't even see it coming. We were blindsided by it," said Noor Ul-Hasan, a Muslim delegate from Salt Lake City, who questioned whether the convention had enough of a quorum to even amend the platform.

Also restored from the 2008 platform was language calling for a government that "gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential."
So it's apparent that the people in the crazy hats, wearing buttons and waving flags really should have saved their time and money and stayed home .. they are merely players in this choreographed show.

I will say that one highlight of this convention is this... an interview of convention goers by Economist Peter Schiff... do we need any more proof that the Democrat Party has become the Socialist Party? do we also need any more proof that every single one of these people needs to have an education in economics?

Major Facepalm.

The Food Stamp President

Hope and Change comes wrapped in government dependency, courtesy of an ever deteriorating U.S. economy.

Bloomberg reports
that:
Food-stamp use reached a record 46.7 million people in June, the government said, as Democrats prepare to nominate President Barack Obama for a second term with the economy as a chief issue in the campaign.

Participation was up 0.4 percent from May and 3.3 percent higher than a year earlier and has remained greater than 46 million all year as the unemployment rate stayed higher than 8 percent. New jobless numbers will be released Sept. 7. ...

Food-stamp spending, which more than doubled in four years to a record $75.7 billion in the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 2011, is the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s biggest annual expense....

Food-stamp enrollment is rising partly because the USDA is pushing higher participation too aggressively, giving government money to people who may not need or want it, U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions said in a telephone interview.
‘Government Incompetence’

“This administration has been hawking food stamps,” said the Alabama Republican, who has called for lower spending on the program. “Every additional dollar in this program is borrowed money,” he said. “It’s one more example of government incompetence.” ...

Spending on what’s officially called the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program totaled $6.21 billion in June, 0.4 percent higher than the previous month and 2.8 percent more than a year earlier. The record is $6.26 billion spent in September 2011.

About 47 percent of recipients are children, and 8 percent are elderly, according to the USDA. About half of all new recipients leave the program within 10 months.

How tragic for this country to be so dependent on government handouts.. and those in government continue to push more people into dependency with the horrific monetary policies they pursue.

We've reached an unbelievable amount of debt, 16 Trillion!

The graphs are just astounding.. and unfortunately things are not going to get any better, especially if they go on with QE3 (AKA monetizing debt and printing more money)

Obama's Hope and Change ... that's what it looks like.

TSA Groping Has Become Normalized

TSA groping has become normalized...
Ok, what does that mean?
It means that the public has now accepted being groped and searched, without a warrant or probable cause, in venues other than airports.
It means that the American people will allow themselves, and their children and parents, to be groped, molested, x-rayed, searched, and detained without probable cause or protest.
It means that the American public will not only allow themselves unquestionably to be stripped of their 4th amendment rights at airports, but apparently in any other venue as well.

Inforwars writes:
The Transportation Security Administration will be conducting grope downs and bag searches at three different locations in Charlotte this week at the Democratic National Convention, illustrating the fact that the TSA has expanded well beyond its remit of transportation and into public venues.

The presence of the TSA at public events obviously have nothing to do with transportation... which is what the "T" in TSA stands for. The budget for the TSA is also expanding and while the population accepts more intrusive searches by this agency, and in the meantime it is certain that thousands upon thousands of unannounced checkpoints across the country will be established.

This is NOT the image of a free person (with hands in the air):

A society that will trade a little liberty for a little order will lose both, and deserve neither.” ― John Stuart Mill

Wake Up, People!

As for me, I refuse to fly until this idiocy is ended.
This is not about safety... this is about government control.
