Governor Malloy Calls Law Abdiding Citizens "The Fringe Of The Fringe"

Yes, unfortunately CT has a very hostile Governor.

In a report by The Day - New London (excerpted below) he not only lies but he insults the 3,500 law abiding CT Citizens that came out to protest Draconian anti-gun legislation proposed as a result of a lunatic who stole his mother's firearms, blasted  her face off and then drove off to a gun free zone to murder 20 children and 6 teachers. Governor Malloy called these citizens who legally own firearms "the Fringe of the Fringe" ... I beg to differ ... I would venture to say that Adam Lanza was "the Fringe of the Fringe".
New London — Gov. Dannel P. Malloy continued to promote his five-part gun violence prevention proposal on Monday, stopping here and visiting with the mayor.

“Today I’m in New London just trying to keep this hot on the front burner of the stove,’’ he said during a brief press conference at City Hall.

In February, Malloy proposed a plan to address gun violence. It includes background checks for transfer or sale of arms; a ban on high-capacity ammunition magazines; strengthening the state’s ban on assault-style weapons; and mandating safer storage and improving enforcement of existing gun laws.

We’re not taking weapons away,” he said Monday. “You’ll get to keep your guns, but you have to pass a background check.’’

That in and of itself is an out and out lie. His proposal does indeed take weapons away .. that is what gun bans do! Governor Malloy is either lying or he apparently does not understand the concept of a BAN if he insists that people will get to keep their guns... someone in the Legislature should probably explain to the Governor what the word BAN means. It means you can't have something. It means that your firearm is illegal to own. The same deal goes for magazines. Banning something means you cannot own it.

As for background checks ... in CT you must already pass various background checks to get a permit or purchase a gun.
Malloy said Monday that most people in the state want changes.
“What you see is the fringe of the fringe showing up in Hartford today,” he said.
Most people want changes?
Hmmm.. I know I'd like to see a change in Governors ... because with people fleeing the state in droves and businesses also heading for the state border, and with an economy that is in total debt and financial shambles, this guy is only intent on citizen disarmament.
But we all know that it is merely a diversion from our real fiscal issues!
It is much easier for him to insult 3,500 law abiding gun owners in CT than to solve the hefty fiscal problems in the State of CT.

"The Fringe of the Fringe"?
Really?
This includes the hardworking businessmen and women who are taxpayers and voters in CT who pay Governor Malloy's salary!

That also includes the gunmakers and their employees that showed up on Monday in Hartford to alert the Governor as to how many jobs will be lost when these gunmakers pull up stakes and move to States that will welcome their business and economic contributions.

Who else was "the Fringe of the Fringe"?
Must be the elected officials that stand by the 3,500 law abiding gun owners in CT and actually adhere to their oath of office to preserve and protect our Constitutional rights to own firearms without infringement.

"The Fringe of the Fringe" also includes the Veterans and Current Duty First Responders and other law enforcement people who came out to protest these moronic gun control laws proposed by the Governor and his henchmen.

What an insult to these Patriots and the service to their country to be called by the Governor "Fringe of the Fringe".

They all deserve an apology from this disrespectful Governor.

This Governor is a disgrace to his office and to the people of CT.
How dare he call these people names like some petulant child.
Earlier in the day, Malloy met with the editorial staff at The Day and was asked about gun manufacturers leaving the state.

“I want them to stay as long as they are manufacturing something that is legally consumed in the country, although it can’t be sold here,” he said.

The bigger issue is the potential economic impact of adding guns to the assault weapons ban list or limiting high capacity magazines, he said.
So what this Governor is saying is that the owners and craftsmen who produce firearms in these companies can make the firearms but cannot legally own them in CT.. that is a concept that is totally idiotic.

This Governor better understand full well the economic impact of these companies leaving the state - and indeed they will if these gun bans are passed. He better get the message real quick that these gun bans that he is proposing are ludicrous, arbitrary and will not do one damn thing from preventing another Sandy Hook from happening again.

On has to wonder why there is such a rush on the part of this Governor to ram citizen disarmament measures down the throats of CT citizens. And all the while that Governor Malloy laments about how  "not every state has had 20 babies shot”- he surely must know that the 3,500 people who showed up at the Capitol on Monday also feel great sadness and heavy hearts over those senseless murders. He must also understand how we ALL understand that there is evil in the world and thus we need to have the ability to protect ourselves from it and to not give criminals the advantage over us.

It is getting quite obvious that the gun control crowd, like Connecticut Against Gun Violence and the  well funded Brady Campaign, is doing all they can to use this tragedy to disarm the public, and their zeal to accomplish that upon the graves of babies is truly horrific.  They have been praying for a Sandy Hook to happen, and they are fearful that their opportunity will slip away when people get past the emotionalism and use some common sense to determine cause and solution. They are not interested in fixing a broken mental health delivery system or  protecting schools with better security measures. No... they just want to disarm the population. Hence the haste to act. You don't want to let a good crisis go to waste.

In the meantime - as anti-gun legislation goes to a hearing on Thursday March 14th in the Legislative Office Building I will hope that again the 3,500 law abiding patriots will descend on Hartford - and whether Governor Malloy calls us names or not - we WILL make our voices heard to HIM and to the Public Safety and Security Committee.

Hey Governor Malloy ... how about you light a fire under the butts of those preparing the Toxicology and Police Investigation reports so we can all know the truth behind the Sandy Hook shootings.
What is it that is being hidden in this mad rush for citizen disarmament legislation?
"The Fringe of the Fringe" want to have some answers!

Amen Sister! The Governor is severely mentally handicapped and a threat to common sense and liberty. The sooner we are done with him the better.
