The Feds Want YOUR Medical Records

In this age of HIPAA laws which give you the illusion that your medical information is private and sacred - there is also the illusion that you will some how have a measure of privacy from the most overbearing of prying eyes... the Federal government. It is just that... an illusion.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is now seeking to have access to medical records without a warrant or consent. Not surprising though.. anyone with half a brain could figure out that this would be the very next step after medical records were digitized... and it looks like the Federal Government is not wasting any time to go after YOUR information:
The Drug Enforcement Administration is trying to access private prescription records of patients in Oregon without a warrant, despite a state law forbidding it from doing so. The ACLU and its Oregon affiliate are challenging this practice in a new case that raises the question of whether the Fourth Amendment allows federal law enforcement agents to obtain confidential prescription records without a judge’s prior approval. It should not.

In 2009, the Oregon legislature created the Oregon Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP), which tracks prescriptions for certain drugs dispensed by Oregon pharmacies, including all of the medications listed above. The program was intended to help physicians prevent drug overdoses by their patients and more easily recognize signs of drug abuse. Because the medical information revealed by these prescription records is highly sensitive, the legislature created robust privacy and security protections for the PDMP, including a requirement that law enforcement must obtain a warrant before requesting records for use in an investigation. But despite those protections, the DEA has been requesting prescription records from the PDMP using administrative subpoenas which, unlike warrants, do not involve demonstrating probable cause to a neutral judge.

The State of Oregon sued the DEA in federal court to defend its right to require law enforcement, including federal agencies, to obtain the warrants required by state law. Today, the ACLU filed a motion to intervene in the case on behalf of several patients and a doctor whose prescription records are contained in the PDMP. Our clients are concerned that the privacy of their medical information will be violated if the DEA is allowed to search through prescription records without a warrant. If the DEA can demonstrate to a judge that it has probable cause to believe that a crime has been committed and that prescription records will provide evidence of that crime, then it can legitimately obtain records from the PDMP. Because prescription records and the medical information they reveal are such a sensitive matter, protecting their privacy is vital, and we argue that obtaining private and confidential prescription records without a warrant constitutes an unreasonable search in violation of the Fourth Amendment.
There most likely will be more instances where the Federal Government will over-step its authority and start demanding medical information... one such likely place is with regard to gun ownership... because we ALL know that the Obama administration and their gun grabbing Marxist legislators will want to add medical history to background checks ... and with so many people on prescription medication, which ALWAYS have side effects, it will be very easy to eliminate the right for many citizens to own or operate a firearm... mark my word on this!

That's one of their tactics... and we'd better get on board very quickly with a plan to fight this additional assault of our second amendment rights.

The Gun Girls

Piers Morgan thought he caught himself 2 dumb blondes to talk about guns... they ended up owning him!

Bigelow and Blankenship summed up their praise for the AR-15 in their National Review column: “The AR-15 is lightweight and practical. As light as five pounds, it produces low levels of recoil, and it’s easy to shoot. It also looks intimidating, which is what you want when facing an assailant or intruder. … Accuracy? Check. Ease in handling? Check. Intimidation factor? Check.
An AR-15 might be a woman’s best friend.”

Media Lies!

I am appalled at the blatant media lies in regard to the public hearing on Gun Violence in Hartford, CT on Monday the 28th.
The report is that Mr. Heslin, a father of a slain Newtown child, was heckled.
I was there... Mr. Heslin was NOT heckled!

He asked the group assembled a question, and the people in the crowd responded to him.
He asked something along the lines of, "Can someone explain to me why someone would need one of these weapons" and the crowd there replied to his question, "Second amendment, shall NOT be infringed".

Of course the anti-gun media grabbed this and reported widely that the man was heckled.
It's Bull Manure!

Here is the article in the CT Post and in the Daily Mail in the UK.

Furthermore, as I heard it, Mr. Heslin's ex-wife is a gun owner and did NOT want her son to be used to promote an anti-gun agenda.

It is absolutely beyond the pale that lies like these are being spread through the media.

Hypocrite Government

So if the Obama administration is telling us how evil "assault weapons" are, then why are they purchasing 7,000 of them???
The scope of this contract is to provide a total of up to 7,000 5.56x45mm North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) personal defense weapons (PDW) throughout the life of this contract to numerous Department of Homeland Security components. …
The Department of Homeland Security is seeking to acquire 7,000 5.56x45mm NATO “personal defense weapons” (PDW) — also known as “assault weapons” when owned by civilians. The solicitation, originally posted on June 7, 2012, comes to light as the Obama administration is calling for a ban on semi-automatic rifles and high capacity magazines.

Citing a General Service Administration (GSA) request for proposal (RFP), Steve McGough of RadioViceOnline.com reports that DHS is asking for the 7,000 “select-fire” firearms because they are “suitable for personal defense use in close quarters.” The term select-fire means the weapon can be both semi-automatic and automatic. Civilians are prohibited from obtaining these kinds of weapons.

The RFP describes the firearm as “Personal Defense Weapon (PDW) – 5.56x45mm NATO, select-fire firearm suitable for personal defense use in close quarters and/or when maximum concealment is required.” Additionally, DHS is asking for 30 round magazines that “have a capacity to hold thirty (30) 5.56x45mm NATO rounds.”

Republican New York state Sen. Greg Ball also issued a press release this week bringing attention to the weapons purchase request.

Calls made to DHS seeking information regarding whether or not the RFP was accepted and fulfilled were not immediately returned on Saturday.

Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.) on Thursday introduced legislation that would enact a so-called “assault weapons” ban. The bill would ban more than 150 firearms and limit magazines to 10 rounds. There is no expiration date on Feinstein’s bill.

Critics of such a ban on semi-automatic rifles are already arguing that the government is showing its hypocrisy by essentially saying they are good “personal defense” for them, but not for American citizens. When civilians own semi-automatic rifles, they somehow become “assault weapons.”

That being said, it is reasonable for the Department of Homeland Security to request these rifles as they are indeed effective personal defense weapons. The agency is tasked with keeping Americans safe from those who wish to do the country harm, and its officials should be equipped with all the tools they need to do so effectively.

But what about Americans who want to keep themselves and their families safe from threats? Is a semi-automatic rifle unacceptable for a civilian’s “personal defense” in his or her home? According to some Democratic lawmakers, like Sen. Feinstein, it appears the answer is yes. ...
Section C of solicitation number HSCEMS-12-R-00011 is pretty specific. Here is a direct link to the Section C PDF (246KB)... emphasis in bold. Notice the term assault weapon or assault rifle is not used anywhere in the document. The “assault weapon” terminology is only used for non-LEOs and non-military who own those firearms.

Not only that, but they have already put out RFP's for millions of rounds of hollow point bullets... ordered for several different government agencies.

So kids, it looks like they think that these guns are fine for them, but not for the rest of us.
However, my question regarding the Second Amendment is just this...
What part of "Shall not be infringed" do they NOT understand?

The Real Culprit Of Newtown

It isn't the guns... it's SSRI drugs.

We haven't heard about what drugs Adam Lanza was on, but I will wager he was on something. One does not just wake up one morning - shoot their mother's face off and then go to a school with guns to murder children and teachers. There had to be drugs involved. Where are the toxicology reports?

These pharmaceuticals are poison! and these drug companies know this.

Let's not allow legislators to go after guns when the real problem is the drugs that kids are being given.

I want to know what drugs Lanza was on... and who he saw or had contact with prior to his rampage.

I want answers.
I want drug companies held responsible.

My guns did not kill those children in Newtown .... why do I stand to be punished for a crime I did not commit?

Hello Kitty The Terrorist

Zero Tolerance Idiocy Regarding Toy Guns...And you thought that the Socialist Government school system couldn't get any loonier...

Seriously, children are being conditioned and frightened into adopting an anti-gun mentality...

Just look at the asinine actions of school officials with regard to a 5 year old child bringing a Hello Kitty Bubble Gun into school:
"A 5-year-old girl was suspended from school earlier this week after she made what the school called a "terrorist threat."

Her weapon of choice? A small, Hello Kitty automatic bubble blower.

The kindergartner, who attends Mount Carmel Area Elementary School in Pennsylvania, caught administrators' attention after suggesting she and a classmate should shoot each other with bubbles.

"I think people know how harmless a bubble is. It doesn't hurt," said Robin Ficker, an attorney for the girl's family. According to Ficker, the girl, whose identity has not been released, didn't even have the bubble gun toy with her at school.

The kindergartner was ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation during her 10-day suspension, which was later reduced to two days. The evaluation deemed the girl normal and not a threat to others, Ficker said."
Seems to me the ones that need psychiatric evaluation are the school administrators - not the children.

Zerohedge has a terrific article about this insanity in which they say:
Teachers and school administrators attend educational seminars (propaganda seminars) just like law enforcement, social workers, and most other state employees. They are given "action plans" and memo's on "suspicious behavior". They are trained to create very specific environmental conditions within their classrooms. Do they understand the full implications of their behavior towards their students? Probably not. But they are aware that they are implementing an educational regime designed to condition out certain behaviors and ideas in the children they teach.

I remember well the DARE program from my early years, which taught us that drug possession was paramount to murder and that it was okay to turn in one's own parents for usage because it would "save their lives". I also remember the constant drone of environmentalism (some of which was legitimate, but most of it nonsense), which taught us the evils of humanity and "overpopulation", as well as the horrors that awaited us in the year 2000 (including the complete disappearance of fresh drinking water. I guess they missed the mark on that one...).

There is in fact a longstanding tradition within American public schools of manipulation. Hell, let's just call it what it really is: Brainwashing!

In 2013, little has changed accept the subject matter. Today, children are being trained with fear and shame to despise the very idea of firearms. Not only the misuse of firearms, but the concept of firearms ownership for ANY person. It is also no mistake that school officials chose the word "terrorist" when describing the Kindergarten girl.

...They were quite bold and open with the purpose of this re-education curriculum; to breed out the American gun culture by browbeating our children.  The problem is, this was already going on for years before Sandy Hook; they have only picked up the pace since. School children across the country are now being suspended for toy guns, games with gun imagery, and even pointing their fingers as if using a gun

... This is not just a "zero tolerance policy" on the part of school officials. This is a concerted and directed effort to frighten children away from the whole of American gun culture using negative reinforcement. Like Pavlov's Dog, which was taught to salivate at the sound of a bell, America's youngest generation is being taught to cringe at the mention of firearms."

It is quite true that these Socialist institutions paid for with your tax dollars are brainwashing children to equate terrorism with gun ownership... they are terrorizing children at a very young age to believe that guns are bad and it is all part of the ideology put forth by Attorney General Eric Holder who said in 1995,
"What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that's not cool, that it's not acceptable, it's not hip to carry a gun anymore, in the way in which we changed our attitudes about cigarettes." ... he said we really need to "brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way."

That is exactly what is happening here.... brainwashing American children.

(Although, it is alright to traffic guns to Mexican Drug Cartels, via programs like Fast and Furious, and Middle Eastern terrorists ala Benghazi arms deals)

And here is another instance where a school was put into lockdown over a Nerf Toy!
It's a Nerf Toy for heaven's sake!!!!
A lime-green Nerf toy gun caused an hours-long lock-down at a Long Island school on Tuesday.

A 911 caller told Nassau County Police she saw a suspicious teen at about 7:38 a.m. Tuesday wearing a black jacket and carrying a black backpack at Elmont Memorial high School in Elmont.

The caller said he was also carrying a lime green gun.

A SWAT team searched the school room by room. Parents were allowed to pick up their children early Tuesday afternoon.

They eventually found the toy lime green and yellow lever action Nerf gun in a student locker. Police did not make any arrests and the lockdown was lifted.

School officials confiscated the toy gun and say it will be returned to the parents.

Inspector Kenneth Lack says the heightened response was due to "an abundance of precaution."

When we lockdown schools and call in SWAT Teams to search for TOY guns then we certainly have a problem with over-reaction in our schools and in society...

But you see it is part of a plan... the brainwashing of American Children.

Clearly, parents need to homeschool their children if they do not want them programmed in this manner by the State.

Martin Luther King Jr And His Guns

"MLK had a houseful of guns. Ironically, he was turned down for a carry permit, because, being African American, he was deemed by local law enforcement to be "not suitable.""

Yes - you heard that right... MLK was a gun owner.

RedState offered this piece about MLK's Arsenal And The Racist Roots Of Gun Control:
Here is an excerpt, and I invite you to read the entire article at RedState.
Martin Luther King, Jr., known for peaceful resistance, at the same time recognized the importance of gun ownership for self-defense. King understood the risks involved in being an outspoken civil rights leader, living in Jim Crow era Alabama, and took measures to protect himself, his family and others around him.

King was a gun owner. In fact, he had a few guns–one visitor to the King family home described King’s supply of weapons as an “armory.”

Additionally, William Worthy, a journalist who covered the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, reported that he almost sat on a loaded gun while visiting King’s parsonage.

King had also applied for a concealed carry permit, but was turned down. According to John M. Snyder:

“At one time, King applied for a permit to carry a concealed handgun, but was denied. He was concerned for his personal safety, just as are a lot of law-abiding American citizens. “

Even though King’s house had just been bombed, his application for the concealed carry permit was still rejected. Few people in the US needed a permit to carry more than Reverend King did in 1956, but since the local police had some discretion in their decision making, King, who no doubt met the requirements of the law, was rejected nonetheless. This was the norm when the applicant was black.

King obviously believed in protecting himself and his loved ones.
I don't think he would appreciate the gun control legislation which we are seeing thrust upon us because he knew that gun control was really about keeping guns out of the hands of people who others seek to oppress.

Another good example with regard to gun control (aka citizen disarmament) and the black population is this video from Jews For The Preservation Of Firearms Ownership entitled No Guns For Negroes

The video talks about how Chris Dodd's father copied Nazi Gun Laws and made them part of US legislation!

Project Veritas Exposes Cowards And Hypocrites

Project Veritas strikes again, this time posing as anti-gun activists to bring to light hypocrisy and cowardice. Watch as anti-gun journalists and politicians say NO to placing a sign on their lawn to proudly declare that their home is gun free... and sometimes it is their armed guards are the ones saying NO. Oh, the irony!

Check out this video to see what Project Veritas was up to and how it ended out, it makes for some very entertaining journalism:

Homeland Security Publishes List Of Words To Use When Monitoring Social Media

Big Brother is watching you... and they have made a list of words to help them determine what kind of threat you are to the government.

Of course, I found this reported in the British Newspapers.

The Department of Homeland Security has been forced to release a list of keywords and phrases it uses to monitor social networking sites and online media for signs of terrorist or other threats against the U.S.

The intriguing the list includes obvious choices such as 'attack', 'Al Qaeda', 'terrorism' and 'dirty bomb' alongside dozens of seemingly innocent words like 'pork', 'cloud', 'team' and 'Mexico'.

Released under a freedom of information request, the information sheds new light on how government analysts are instructed to patrol the internet searching for domestic and external threats.

The words are included in the department's 2011 'Analyst's Desktop Binder' used by workers at their National Operations Center which instructs workers to identify 'media reports that reflect adversely on DHS and response activities'.

Department chiefs were forced to release the manual following a House hearing over documents obtained through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit which revealed how analysts monitor social networks and media organisations for comments that 'reflect adversely' on the government.

However they insisted the practice was aimed not at policing the internet for disparaging remarks about the government and signs of general dissent, but to provide awareness of any potential threats.

As well as terrorism, analysts are instructed to search for evidence of unfolding natural disasters, public health threats and serious crimes such as mall/school shootings, major drug busts, illegal immigrant busts.

The list has been posted online by the Electronic Privacy Information Center - a privacy watchdog group who filed a request under the Freedom of Information Act before suing to obtain the release of the documents.

In a letter to the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Counter-terrorism and Intelligence, the centre described the choice of words as 'broad, vague and ambiguous'.

So if you are on Facebook and utter the phrase: "My brother just phoned from MEXICO to tell me that it's very CLOUDY there and he just finished eating a PORK chop." - then you just might have the SWAT team show up at your door.

Here is Page 1 of 3:

Read more here.

Some Liberty loving musicians should pen a song that includes all the words on the list... that would be brilliant!

What the hell kind of country are we living in now?

Obama Administration Seeking To Test Anthrax Vaccines On Children

Just came across this little piece of news... and it kind of reminded me of when Hitler used children in gruesome experiments...
A public meeting of the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues has been scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, January 14-15, to be held at the University of Miami Hospital Seminar Center, Florida:
The stated topic for discussion is “ethical issues associated with the development of medical countermeasures for children.”

http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2012-12-26/pdf/2012-31037.pdf

The Obama Administration is seeking approval to conduct morally impermissible, wholly non-therapeutic medical experiments that would expose healthy children to risks of serious harm.

Specifically, the Department of Health and Human Services is seeking to test the highly controversial, dangerous Anthrax vaccine, on children.

Express Your Views to the Commissions Director, Hillary.Viers@bioethics.gov

For over a year, the Commission has been attempting to find a rationale for endorsing a proposed government policy that would violate fundamental medical ethics principles. Principles mandated under the Nuremberg Code after the atrocities committed under the Nazi regime came to light.

Under US Law, research involving greater than minimal risk and no prospect of direct benefit to individual [child] subjects, is prohibited in healthy children. (45 CFR 46, subpart D).

If not stopped, the US government would override ethical and legal prohibitions by testing “medical countermeasures” on unprotected children who are legally incapable of giving informed consent. The government would subject healthy but socioeconomically deprived American children to unjustifiable risks of harm–to be exploited as human guinea pigs.

The overarching question–Not specified by the Commission or the Administration–is, WHOSE CHILDREN ARE TO BE SELECTED for experiments that violate ethical and moral standards?

If history is a guide, underprivileged children’s best interest will sacrificed to serve as a means to an end that will benefit powerful commercial and government entities.

More than a decade has passed since the US was attacked by terrorists, Sept. 11, 2001.
No biochemical weapon has ever been shown to pose a threat to Americans–neither military personnel nor civilians.
The only exception was the mailing of anthrax laced envelopes in October, 2001, by a US military scientist, om a US military laboratory-who is now dead.

There is no evidence whatsoever of an anthrax threat to American children.

Therefore, those who even consider exposing children to the documented harmful effects of the anthrax vaccine suffer from a “moral deficit disorder.”

Express Your Views to the Commissions Director, Hillary.Viers@bioethics.gov

Below are the warnings on the Anthrax Vaccine label.

Overarching all considerations is the question–

WHOSE CHILDREN WILL BE EXPOSED TO THE SERIOUS RISKS OF THE ANTHRAX VACCINE–WITHOUT ANY POTENTIAL BENEFIT FOR THEM?

WHOSE CHILDREN WILL BE USED AS HUMAN GUINEA PIGS?

FDA-Approved Label Warning (31 JAN 2002)

ANTHRAX VACCINE ADSORBED (BIOTHRAX™)

EXCERPT
“Approximately 6% of the reported events were listed as serious. Serious adverse events include those that result in death, hospitalization, permanent disability or are life-threatening.
The serious adverse events most frequently reported were in the following body system categories: general disorders and administration site conditions, nervous system disorders, skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders, and musculoskeletal, connective tissue and bone disorders.
...

Revised package insert (May 2012) provides additional cause for alarm.

I say if the Obama administration goes ahead with this, then the first to get this test vaccine should be Sasha and Malia Obama!

This administration is shaping up to be incredibly evil, and anyone advocating for gun bans better take notice of these things.

Gun and Homicide Rates

Someone send this to Piers Morgan!

So the question begs to be asked... how many gun related homicides are related to the "war on drugs" and its associated gang violence? And how many of those gun related crimes and homicides are happening in "gun free" zones? But the biggest question of all is how many of these homicides are a direct result of a criminal gun wielding maniac that is on some regimen of prescribed mind altering psychotropic drugs?

Britain is on the verge of banning Knives!
Do they honestly believe this will stop their soaring crime?

Assault is not a weapon, it's a behavior.

Inflation Since The American Revolution

I just had to share this chart with you....

From Michael Krieger who posted this chart:
inflation was virtually unheard of until the Creature from Jekyll Island (the Federal Reserve) took over. However, more importantly, things didn’t really start to get bad until the 1970′s right after Nixon took the nation off the gold standard in 1971. Since that time, America has seen a period of non-existent real wage growth and a huge gap grow between the rich and the poor. Nothing like livin’ the debt slave dream!

and this comment from a reader at Zerohedge:
Essay by Carmen Reinhart and Ken Rogoff

Shifting Mandates: The Federal Reserve’s First Centennial

It is probable that in 1913, while financial panics were not uncommon, high inflation was still largely seen by the founders of the Fed as a relatively rare phenomenon associated with wars and their immediate aftermath. Figure 1 plots the US price level from 1775 (set equal to one) until 2012. In 1913 prices were only about 20 percent higher than in 1775 and around 40 percent lower than in 1813, during the War of 1812. Whatever the mandates of the Federal Reserve, it is clear that the evolution of the price level in the United States is dominated by the abandonment of the gold standard in 1933 and the adoption of fiat money subsequently. One hundred years after its creation, consumer prices are about 30 times higher than what they were in 1913. This pattern, in varying orders of magnitudes, repeats itself across nearly all countries.

Interesting to note:
In 1860, land was selling for $3 to $5 an acre, and a laborer’s wage without board was 90 cents a day.

Wheat flour — $7.14/barrel
Rice — 7 cents/pound
Granulated sugar — 8 cents/pound
Roasting beef — 11 cents/pound
Soup beef — 4 cents/pound
Cheese — 13 cents/pound
Eggs — 20 cents/dozen
Hard wood — $6.49/cord
Rent for 4 rooms — $4.45/month
Room and board for men — $2.79/month
Room and board for women — $1.79/month

If you haven't already read The Creature From Jekyll Island, then by all means put that on your reading list.
